DC10FE
For all you old-timers out there, check out this flying model of Ole Shakey. The clamshell doors even open. The only things missing are the sexy rumble of the 4360's and the squeeling brakes. I think the model flies faster than the real thing!!! http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/Douglas-C-124a Don R. MAC27000
That RC model is awesome. And yes, it does seem to fly better, and with fewer squeaks, than the real thing. My first flightline job in the Air Force (Dec '65) was to swap out an APS-42 transmitter in a C-124C at Dover AFB. I never did get to count all the pieces to the old RT unit after it slipped out of my hands, falling from the nose to the ground (the clam shell doors were open). What could I say? I was a green "3-level" and they told me in tech school that I'd never see the obsolete APS-42 radar... which I continued working on for the next 10 years. MAXTORQ
My father has 8500 hours in a 124 as a panel engineer. This was at the 442nd at Dicky Goober. Dad loved that plane along with the 119.
