SamMcGowan
Does anyone remember the tail number of the airplane Lt. Col. Bill Boyd flew out of Kham Duc on the evacuation? Somebody wrote "The Lucky Duc" on the side. At one time Lars O. showed the name by a tail number of an airplane that crashed in Idaho or somewhere, but I can't find it in the last version of his booklet that I have. Sonny
Sam, I think it was C-130E 62-1838. It crashed in '95 near Bliss, Idaho. Sonny
larry myers
I was 838s crew chief in the 36th TAS at Langley from mid 66 untill 68. Good aircraft as I recall.

larry myers
Thanks much Bob. The photo was taken after my time on the acft as the sqd. logo is not the 36th. Perhaps assigned to a 374 TAW sqd.
larry myers
As 1838s crew chief from 66 to 68 and being aware it crashed, am wondering if anyone can provide details surrounding the crash?
