  1. Hi Casey,

Great Job, the two things I saw that might be changed were removing the forward top antenna where the IFR slipway should be and adding the 2 pods under the external tanks. If you still have the copy of the picture you adjusted for my avatar it might be of some help. I can resend the picture via email if needed.

    Thanks,

    Bruce

Also forgot we had longwire HF antennas.

The pods are there, they are just hard to see with the dark colors. I'll work on the other changes. Please resend the image.

    Casey

  2. Got my 2 Black and Green War Machines in the mail today..... AWESOME is as close of a description as I can come up with. You did a great job.

    Engine Mike

Thank you for your purchase and for the kind words. If you decide to frame them, I would love to see picture when they are done.

  3. The Fix

There recently was an article in the St. Petersburg Fl. Times. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on: "How Would You Fix the Economy?"I think this guy nailed it!

    Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

    1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

    2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.

    3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...

Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare... I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

  4. Casey,

The cook radome and antenna (hump) normally came off in PDM but frequently they were removed and thrown in the junkpile by home station whenever there was a flaw in the radome, or when you put a dozen storks through it on the AR track in Turkey:rolleyes:

I didn't catch that last part when I read you post before. Craig Adams and I had the pleasure of removing 993's after that incident. That plane was literaly a stinking mess (18 confirmed strikes.) I have some pictures I'll try to scan and post to the incidents gallery.

  5. Yes. The Talons are done and the MCP is real close. I will convert that print to a HCP and a HCN model and "paint as requested." A, B, and E model slicks can be done easily upon request. Other models will follow as requested.

You said you were interested in A 17th TAS, 32nd TAS print and 16 TATS prints. Could you e-mail me images of the particular aircraft you want?

  7. I got in this late but what version of the Talon 1 are you trying to draw? This one still has the comm. ant. over the flight deck (pre-UARRSI). I have a picture of a Mod 60 Talon 1 that does not have the QRC 84-02's and pre APQ-122. The color sceme on it is black/green with a white belly.

I am not certain of the exact year(s) of this particular version. Have I mismatched equipment/mods that never were? I have attached one of reference photos I used in creating the image.

  8. Casey,

IDS stands for Infrared Detection System, what is mistakenly called a FLIR system (difference between the two is the IDS can slew around and is not fixed in a Forward position).

And yes, the scanners windows up front are missing from your print, other than that it looks pretty good, maybe missing some other stuff too but will have to wait for current humpy guys to chime in. My knowledge is several years out of date.

Gary, the only humpy's that had an IDS system when I retired, were the four MC-P's that were given to the Kommiefornia Guard Rescue squadron.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have them now, but at the time - none, you see it costs money and if it wasn't for a fighter, ACC didn't spend the money.

The cook radome and antenna (hump) normally came off in PDM but frequently they were removed and thrown in the junkpile by home station whenever there was a flaw in the radome, or when you put a dozen storks through it on the AR track in Turkey:rolleyes:

    Dan

    I see.

I should have titled the thread MC-130P Print. HCP=MCP in my mind still. I will edit the thread title.

  9. Excellent prints Hey any way to get a print of a MC-130W before we mod all our acft to the new mission set? Let me know what you need pic-wise.

    Gary

Sure thing. It will be a bit though.

  10. Question -- could the ghost bird be added to the black and green ugly machine? I realise you would probably have to more the words to below the airplane with the patchs -- just a thought what it would look like?

I experimented and I can do it, leaving the top as is and removing the patches on the bottom. Otherwise, it is too crowded.

  11. It has been a while Sonny. I couldn't even remember how much fuel the externals held. We rarely used them. The best way to learn a system is to work it and unfortunately we had very few fuel problems. In fact, the plane rarley broke at all. :)
