  1. Last December, Mark's grandmother was giving him directions to her apartment.

"You come to the front door of the apartment complex.

There is a big panel at the door. With your elbow push button 14T."

She continued, "I will buzz you in. Come inside, the elevator is on the right.

Get in, and with your elbow hit 14. I am on the left. With your elbow, hit my doorbell."

"Grandma, that sounds easy," replied the grandson, "but why am I hitting all these buttons with my elbow"?

    To which she answered...

    "You're coming empty handed?"

  4. A couple is in bed sleeping when there's a rat-a-tat-tat on the door.

The husband rolls over and looks at the clock, and it's half past 3 in the morning.†I’m not getting out of bed at this time," he thinks, and rolls over. Then, a louder knock follows. So he drags himself out of bed, goes downstairs, opens the door, and there's a man standing there. It didn't take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk.

"Hi there," slurs the stranger, "Can you give me a push?" "No, get lost. It's half past three and I was in bed," says the man as he slams the door. He goes back up to bed and tell his wife what happened and she says, "That wasn't very nice of you. Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the baby-sitter and you had to knock on that man's house to get us started again? What would have happened if he'd told us to get lost?"

"But the guy was drunk," says the husband.

"It doesn't matter," says the wife.†He needs our help and it would be the Christian thing to help him." So the husband gets out of bed again, gets dressed, and goes downstairs.

He opens the door, and not being able to see the stranger anywhere,

He shouts, "Hey, do you still want a push?"

And he hears a voice cry out, "Yeah, please."

So, still being unable to see the stranger he shouts, "Where are you?" The drunk replies, "Over here, on the swing."

  5. There are two statues in a park; one of a nude man and one of a nude

woman. They had been facing each other across a pathway for a hundred years,

when one day an angel comes down from the sky and, with a single

gesture, brings the two to life.

The angel tells them, 'As a reward for being so patient through a

hundred blazing summers and dismal winters, you have been given life

for thirty minutes to do what you've wished to do the most.'

He looks at her, she looks at him, and they go running behind the

    shrubbery.

The angel waits patiently as the bushes rustle and giggling ensues.

After fifteen minutes, the two return, out of breath and laughing.

The angel tells them, 'Um, you have fifteen minutes left, would you

    care to do it again?'

    He asks her 'Shall we?'

She eagerly replies, 'Oh, yes, let's! But let's change positions.

This time, I'll hold the pigeon down and you poop on its head.

    ---AND WHAT WERE YOU THINKING????

  6. Two drunks are driving down the highway, drinking their beer.

All of a sudden the driver notices lights flashing in his mirror; the cops are on his tail.

    His buddy says,

"What are we going to do?"

    The driver says,

"Don't worry, Just do exactly what I tell you and everything will work out perfectly.

First, peel the labels off our beer bottles and we'll each stick one on our forehead.

Then shove the bottles underneath the seat, and let me do the talking."

They pull over and the cop walks up to the car.

He looks at them kind of funny, but asks to see the guy's driver's license.

    And he asks him,

    "Have you been drinking?"

"Oh, no, sir," the driver replies.

"I noticed you weaving back and forth across the highway.

Are you *sure* you haven't been drinking?" the cop asks.

"Oh, no, sir," the drunk answers.

"We haven't had a thing to drink tonight."

"Well, I've got to ask you," says the cop,

"What on earth are those things on your forehead?"

"That's easy, Officer," says the drunk.

"You see, we're both alcoholics, and we're on the patch."

  7. The following came from an anonymous Mother in

    Austin, Texas...

Things I've learned from my Boys (honest and not kidding):

1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill

a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run

over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

    3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200

    adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the

motor is not strong enough to rotate 42 pound Boy

wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape It is

strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to

spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the

ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a

bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times

before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a

    baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't

stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh

    oh", it's already too late.

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and

    lots of it.

    9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire w ith a flint

rock even though a 36-year old man says they can

only do it in the movies.

10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive

tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in

    the same sentence.

    12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a

swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCR's do not eject "PB & J" sandwiches even

though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

    19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on;

    plastic toys do not

    like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a

    5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the

washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the

    Clorox and brake fluid.

  9. One night a police officer was staking out a particularly rowdy bar for possible DUI violations.

At closing time, he saw a fellow tumble out of the bar, trip on the curb, and try his keys in five different cars before he found his.

Then he sat in the front seat fumbling around with his keys for several minutes.

Everyone else left the bar and drove off. Finally he started his engine and began to pull away.

The police officer was waiting for him. He stopped the driver, read him his rights and administered the Breathalyzer test.

The results showed a reading of 0.0.

The puzzled officer demanded to know how that could be.

    The driver replied ,

"Well to night I'm the designated decoy"

  10. One day, Mr. Phillard rushed his pregnant wife over to the hospital. As the doctors were prepping his wife, Mr. Phillard's idiot brother Bill arrived to watch the birth. But when Mr. Phillard saw the blood and everything else, he fainted. When Mr. Phillard woke up he was in a bed with the doctor standing above him.

"Mr. Phillard," the doctor said, "you are in the recovery room. Don't worry, your wife is fine and she had twins, a boy and a girl. Because you were unconscious and your wife was still under anesthesia, she requested that your brother Bill name the kids."

"What! My brother, the idiot! I can't believe you let him! What did he name them?"

    "He named your daughter Denise."

"Hey, not bad! I underestimated my brother. What did he name my son?"

    "He named your son Denephew."

  11. For several years, a man was having an affair with an Italian woman. One night, she confided to him that she was pregnant.

Not wanting to ruin his reputation or his marriage, he paid her a large sum of money so she would go to Italy to secretly have the child.

If she stayed in Italy to raise the child, he would also provide child support until the child turned 18.

She agreed, but asked how he would know when the baby is born.

To keep it discrete, he told her to simply mail him a post card, and write 'Spaghetti' on the back.

He would then arrange for the child support payments to begin.

One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife.

"Honey," she said, "you received a very strange post card today."

"Oh, just give it to me and I'll explain it later," he said.

The wife did and watched as her husband read the card, turned white and fainted.

On the card it was written: "Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti. Three with meatballs, two without. Send extra sauce!"

  13. WHY ?

Why do we press harder on a remote control

when we know the batteries are getting weak?

Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds"

when they know there is not enough?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars,

But check when you say the paint is wet?

Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest,

but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what colour bubble bath you use

    the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator

with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle

with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so,

why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right,

so why don't we say, "That hurt, you stupid idiot?"

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling

    off

the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was

in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

  15. A young monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to helping

the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church

    by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from

copies, not from the original manuscript. So, the new monk goes

to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone

made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up.

In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

The head monk says, "We have been copying from the copies for

centuries, but you make a good point, my son." So, he goes down

into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original

manuscripts are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't

been opened for hundreds of years.

Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot. So, the young monk

gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees him banging

his head against the wall and wailing, "We missed the "R", we

    missed the "R"!

His forehead is bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.

The young monk asks the old abbot, "What's wrong, father?"

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies,

    "The word was CELEBRATE!"

  16. POSSIBLY THE VERY BEST CHICKEN JOKE EVER....

A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face. The egg, looking a bit ticked off, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says "Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question".

  17. An older couple decides to go to the doctor for a checkup. The

doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start

writing things down to help them remember. Later that night while

watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.

His wife asks, "Where are you going?"

    "To the kitchen" he replies.

"Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?"

    "Sure."

"Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember

    it?" she asks.

    "No, I can remember it."

"Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. You'd better

write it down because you know you'll forget it."

He says, "I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream

    with strawberries."

"I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that,

so you'd better write it down" she retorts.

Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can

remember it. Leave me alone. Ice cream with strawberries and

whipped cream I got it, for goodness sake." Then he grumbles

    into the kitchen.

After about 20 minutes the old man returns from the kitchen and

hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for

    a moment and says -

    "Where's my toast?

a.. "As of tomorrow, employees will only be able to access the building

using individual security cards. Pictures will be taken next Wednesday

and employees will receive their cards in two weeks." (This was the winning quote from Fredrick Dales at Microsoft Corp. in Redmond, WA.)

b.. "What I need is a list of specific unknown problems we will

    encounter." (Lykes Lines Shipping)

c.. "E-mail is not to be used to pass on information or data. It should

be used only for company business." (Accounting manager, Electric Boat

    Company)

d.. "This project is so important, we can't let things that are more

important interfere with it." (Advertising/Marketing manager, United

    Parcel Service)

e.. "Doing it right is no excuse for not meeting the schedule.

f.. "No one will believe you solved this problem in one day! We've been

working on it for months. Now, go act busy for a few weeks and I'll let

you know when it's time to tell them." (R&D supervisor, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing/3M Corp.)

g.. "My Boss spent the entire weekend retyping a 25-page proposal that

only needed corrections. She claims the disk I gave her was damaged and

she couldn't edit it. The disk I gave her was write-protected." (CIO of Dell

    Computers)

h.. "Teamwork is a lot of people doing what I say." (Marketing

    executive, Citrix Corporation)

i.. My sister passed away and her funeral was scheduled for Monday.

When I told my Boss, he said she died on purpose so that I would have to miss work on the busiest day of the year. He then asked if we could change her burial to Friday. He said, "That would be better for me." (Shipping executive, FTD Florists)

j.. "We know that communication is a problem, but the company is not

going to discuss it with the employees." (Switching supervisor, AT&T Long Lines Division)

k.. We recently received a memo from senior management saying: "This is to inform you that a memo will be issued today regarding the memo mentioned above." (Microsoft, Legal Affairs Division)

l.. One day my Boss asked me to submit a status report to him

concerning a project I was working on. I asked him if tomorrow would be soon enough. He said, "If I wanted it tomorrow, I would have waited until tomorrow to ask for it!" (New business manager, Hallmark Greeting Cards)

m.. As director of communications, I was asked to prepare a memo

reviewing our company's training programs and materials. In the body of the memo in

one of the sentences I mentioned the "pedagogical approach" used by one

of the training manuals. The day after I routed the memo to the executive

committee, I was called into the HR director's office, and told that the

executive vice president wanted me out of the building by lunch. When I

asked why, I was told that she wouldn't stand for perverts (pedophiles?)

working in her company. Finally, he showed me her copy of the memo, with her demand that I be fired-and the word "pedagogical" circled in red. The HR manager was fairly reasonable, and once he looked the word up in his dictionary and made a copy of the definition to send back to her, he told me not to worry. He would take care of it. Two days later, a memo to the entire staff came out directing us that no words, which could not be found in the local Sunday newspaper could be used in company memos. A month later, I resigned. In accordance with company policy, I created my resignation memo by pasting words together from the Sunday paper. (Taco Bell Corporation)

He said, "Well I was thinking of bringing her back."
