  1. We\'ll be doing the VMCA/VMCG testing late this Spring & early Summer at Edwards. Snow\'s testing didn\'t really provide any accurate data for the USAF. For one, their airframe has been altered(dorsal & rudder). The H3 is scheduled to do it\'s first engine run on Tuesday here. You\'ll bet that I\'ll be out there to watch!
  2. Snow Aviation modified their airframe to the point that any results they came up with were completely useless to us. If you look at pictures of the Snow aircraft, you\'ll notice that both the dorsal & rudder are quite abit larger than a regular Herc.
  3. Because for the initial tests, a ski-equipped airplane isn\'t necessary & intruduces more logistical issues for the test team. Edwards AFB is not equipped to maintain C-130s...SPO issue there. The more basic you keep the airplane, the fewer parts we have to worry about waiting around to come in. We just waited over a week to get a motor here!
  4. The J shares the exact same flight control setup as the legacy Herc. The computers do have control over the engines though.
  5. That\'s a fact Jim. It was close to 38,000EBH, but had several years left. Kadena was trying to find someone who wanted her, but had no takers. Later, when the cracks were being discovered, someone made the late choice to go get her out of the boneyard. Good flying airplane out of there.
  6. Yes it is, they tell me it\'s a big improvement. Update, Just flew the bird on Wed, it was great! Redefines the term \"stable RPM\"!
  7. We are receiving a Wyoming H3 tomorrow that already has the EPCS. We will install four Hamilton Sundstrum 8-bladed props on it & test the complete system this year.
