    Commissioned through the ROTC program at Indiana University in Bloomington in 1969. Graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training at Web AFB, Texas in 1970. Flew C-130Es with the 316th TAW, 37 TAS at Langley AFB, Virginia from 1970 -1973 on world-wide tactical airlift missions, mostly in the U.S., Europe, Central and South America.

    Became the first 1st Lt. at Langley AFB to become an aircraft commander. First mission as AC was a three month TDY to South East Asia. (My copilot was Lt. Steve Stevens, who became a B. Gen.). We were rewarded an Air Metal for 100 combat missions flown there. Upon return from this assignment, became a C-130 Instructor Pilot and taught in the simulator. Left the USAF as a Captain.

    Worked as a producer/director in Madison, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, London and The Netherlands. In 1978, Produced and Directed the first documentary of an EAA Convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin called "Affair in the Air." This award-winning program was first aired nationally on PBS.

  1. It was a fantastic experience and would really like to see more people join in. I thought our Choral group was kind of par for the course ;-) The songs were meant to be educational.

  3. I am not very much one for reunions and this actually is the first reunion I've ever been to. Wow! I must be getting old, but this was an experience I will always cherish and carry with me into the future. The individual and group pathos that was created between us during that amazing period of flying missions with the Herky Birds, will never leave our hearts and minds. That made the reunion super special. Thanks to all of you for sharing so much, but not too much with my wife Lydia. Hope to see you all next year.
