Sonny
Casey,I would like a print of C-130A 56-0489 in the VN cammo colors. I would like all the A/C specifications on the bottom and maybe work in the TAC and 21st TAS Squadron patches as well as "Sgt. S.R. Cook, Jr., Crew Chief 1967. It will look really nice with the one you did of 56-0533.Thanks,Sonny
casey
Sonny,Perfect timing. I just got everything straightened up from our move to our new house and will be able to get a few "back-logged" prints. Look for a proof image later in the week. --Casey

Before they were camouflaged, all of the airplanes at Naha had PACAF patches on the tail. When they were first painted, they had subdued numbers (small) but in mid-1967 tail codes and a larger number were added. This picture was taken in the spring of 1967. Sonny
Sam (or anyone else), I need a little clarification here to get things straight. I thought there were only SAC, TAC and MAC, so which one, if any, did PACAF come under? Thanks, Sonny
bobdaley
SAC MAC and TAC were only in the CONUS. USAFE, PACAF, and Southcom gained SAC, MAC and TAC units tdy. USAFE and PACAF also had their own units assigned. In 73, 37TAS and a Dyess SQ were TAC units assigned to PACAF at CCK, there were also 4 PACAF Herk sqdns at CCK at the time. Sonny
Thanks Bob. That certainly made it much clearer. I guess I just assumed that since I was in a Tactical Airlift Squadron I was assigned to TAC. Ahhh Youth!! Back then I just did what I was told and didn't ask a whole lot of questions.
