  1. Ok! I know I have said this before and I will now say it again for the young troops. If you get a copy of any paper work while you are in the AF keep it. I have seen and heard of so many trying prove this and that for the whom ever for what ever. Keep the paper work. There is only one kind and only one kind that I would not keep. I think you all can figure which one that is.

  2. It may have been at Naha but I doubt if it was in the 41st unless it was transferred in later. All of the double 0 airplanes went to PACAF. Most of them wer ein the 815th but there were a couple at Naha.

Well, well, well I do not think you are right about all of the double 0 aircraft going to PACAF, We had the following aircraft at Everux AB, FR and at Lockbourne AFB, OH. In the 317th TCW and the 317th TAW.

  4. Thank you Giz.

I had thought about doing this since the last time that the subject of Bio's had came up.

But first I had to straighten out my 201 file.

I would like to see everyone fill out something similar to this. I would like to know something about all of my C-130 friends.

It make's no differant if you are a newby or and old fart like me.

I would like to say "Welcome back to all of the Vietnam Vets, and thank you for your service to each and everyone else that has served no mater which service.

    "Dutch"

  5. VIETNAM Just the word stirs a multitude of emotions. Anger - over the way we were welcomed home.

Speaking of our welcome home, about a year ago I bought a baseball cap saying that I was a Vietnam Vet on it. Many times I have had people come up to me and say "Thank you for your service". I then tell all of them that when they see someone with a hat similer to mine saying that the wearer is a Vietnam Vet to not thank him for his service but to tell him "Welcome Home". After all we never got a welcome home. I all so think we should do it amoungst ourselves. So to all of the Vietnam Vets I say "WELCOME HOME".

  6. Mike,

I am a 72 year old old fart and I have seen a lot of things in my life and none of them has made me cry.

But let me tell you that this is the one that did it to me.

I set here and watched this and had to stop it several times.

I thank you for helping me to remember all of the kids that did not come back alive.

    God Bless 'em all.

  7. "You never flew combat, did you?"

No by God I did not but I worked my ass off day after day and night after night so you could.

I went from A1C to MSGT doing that on C-130's of all types for 14 years so that the aircrews would have a safe aircraft to fly, what ever they were doing.

So let me tell you that it took a lot more than flight crews to fight and fly.

    Thank you!

  8. I was in all three squadrons, I first went to the 605 Mass and worked on 54th WRS birds, then was transfered to the 54th later during my first tour. Transfered out to the states and a couple of other places then back to Guam and the 79th ARRS. Yes they were good times to be had there.:)
