This link says the 135's will go to Ramstein and the SOG (130's and Osprey's) are going to Spandahlem

I am currently reading a book called Outlaws Inc, it is a book about ex soviet airmen and the IL-76's they fly. I just started a chapter about West Africa and there is a reference to a guy called "Non-Sched Fred" in it. Must be him!

Thanks guys! I thought it looked like a B, but wasn't sure. I enjoyed cranking up the volume when it took off...great sound!

SEFE George, I don't know if this will help, but you can search by unit for awards here.

Hey US Herk, I do remember 0193 & 0194 being at Mildenhall plus the other three tail #'s you listed.

I always get the 10% at Lowes and Home Depot with no questions asked. I too only found out about the discount at Lowes and Home Depot by someone at the next register asking about it. A few weeks prior to finding out about it, I had just spent a bunch of money at Lowes for all the materials for a new kitchen floor, so I took in all my receipts and they credited me the discount on everything I had bought.

I thought that was fuel in the 141 struts...because if you compressed them at an angle (wrong) to un-install them, the stuff would leak out all over. I was surprised how durable the milkstools were after seeing so many thrown out troop doors buy pissed off loads.

I retired in 2003 and finally got on the VONAPP webite from the VA last year. I had documented in my medical records some hearing issues, having to go back and re-test, etc. A few months after filing on the VONAPP website (Which only took an hour or so) I was given an appt at the VA in Madison, Wi fora hearing test. The doc at the facility was very good and told me I definently had some issues after the test (The appt paperwork told me the personnel conducting the test could not discuss any findings). Anyway about 4-5 weeks after the test, I received mail from the VA that gave me a 10% disability. So overall I was very surprised how it all worked (I personally did not have to submit any hard copies of my records to anyone).

While "racked and stacked" at the Kohbar Towers we always made it a point to swipe the crew truck and head over to "Lucky Base". For some reason the buncha' trailer doobers they pushed together at the towers was bargain basement stuff, sometimes safer to just live with the MRE's (those days what I wouldn't give for a C-Rat!). Last few years in the "war" I spent some time at Hurlburt - man was that really Grade A grub.

Oh yeah! Who's still got their P-38!?
Rowdy, I only spent a few days at Khobar, but I do remember the "Khobar Option" chow hall (I think it was called that), man, that was some brutal stuff they served there!

Surprisingly, Ascension Island had some good breakfast, and Camp Butmir(?) in Sarajevo was a nice surprise as well.

I was just curious, how many pallet positions will the dual rails provide for on the MC-P? 3 or 4 on the floor plus 1 on the ramp?

If I remember right the C-23's out of Zwiebrucken when they first started had a flight mech and then in later years went to loadmasters.

Roman Nose

I was at Mcchord 86-87, and we had a group of 130's from Rhode Island ANG (if i remember right) pass thru going to Alaska, and one was a Roman nose. I remember seeing it land and saw that bright light on the nose.
