  1. Can someone explain this BS to me?

It is BS. I saw one black A/C at Ramstein during my six years there, for one day. I guess they never did any pre, post, thru, HSC or ISO inspections on it.

Must have been a CNN news reporter.

  2. UM, the wings installed during TCTO 1039 DO HAVE externally mounted fuel probes. They are 3-3/4" across and have 4 screws in them.

The information label for the wing should be on the training edge around OWS 180.

  3. You should be able to order NSN 1560-00-659-1367. This would be the -3 assembly, which includes the -4 seal and -7 seal. The -7 is just a foam tube that slides into the -4 seal. This creates a stiffer and tighter fit.

  4. APU will not start. Fuel flow w/ ignitors. Recommend swapping the ASR with the FHR? How can I download the ALSOCM 11-201 16.0 from home computer?

I know what an AFI 11-201 is, but never heard of ALSCOM.

  5. With all the problems they had getting her converted, I'm surprised that Frankenherk is flying at all. Poor thing.

The main reason it is flying is Tim Martin. He went through all the diagrams, checked the aircraft, and found many, many problems. I minorly assisted him with this, and it was one hell of a project.

I'm so glad they didn't do all the other aircraft they were supposed to do. One klusterf*<h was enough.

BTW, I worked on Frankenherk, 64-0539, quite a bit. I prefer to call 1863 Frankentanker.

  6. We really haven't seen it hands on either. I don't think it's an antiskid issue myself. I still wonder if there's a possibilty of rotor warp, but kind of hard to believe with multiple discs.

They don't want to taxi it to troubelshoot right now. I doubt they'll even think about it capping off one brake at a time. Maybe in an ideal world...

  7. As Bob said, the only HC-130P that has UARRSI is an old ABCCC airframe, 62-1863. This aircraft is in a 64 model configuration now.

A total of 6 were supposed to be converted, but that didn't happen due to funding. It's a good thing too, that aircraft was AFU as far as system wiring was concerned.
