  1. My note say this is at Khe Sahn, is that right? What tail number is it?
  2. I ask you, does this look like some good fired Chicken or what:rolleyes:
  3. Yep, I would much rather put in double panes than deal with storm windows.
  4. Yep, its got the 6.4 liter diesel motor. As to windows, they are all (except 1) the original single pane windows. I am going to have to figure out what I want to do for storm windows or perhaps just get double pane cartridges built for the window frames and install them in the original frames.
  5. I think we used to call the old ADF control head a coffee grinder as well, because of the crank for dialing in the freq's.
  6. Welcome to the best Herk site on the web
  7. What do you call a Democrat with half a brain? Gifted. Military expert Barack Obama thinks that an Offensive Nuke is a dirty microwave oven. The Obama economy utilizes a system of carefully monitored checks and balances. He writes the checks, you pay the balance. Liberals area asking us to give Obama some time We agree and think 25 to life would be appropriate America needs obamacare like Pelosi needs a halloween mask. What's the difference between Obama and his dog? His dog has papers! What's the difference between a Democrat and a prostitute? The prostitute gives value for the money she takes. How many Democrats does it take to change a light bulb? Like it matters they're still in the dark either way.
  8. Thats an easy one since I bought the house from the Indiana Historical Foundation, the only covenants I have is to maintain the exterior in its original style and if I want to change anything (on the exterior of the house) I have to get approval and the guys I have dealt with already give me the impression that it shouldn't be to hard. Pretty good folks.
  9. Dude, I am so sorry for you! I know what it felt like for me to lose flying, but you are still in and now your going to play video games instead of flying. But what the hell, you might get the chance to kill someone and that makes up for a lot:D

    Hero

Yep, Navy cross to be sure and since he was returning from a combat mission someone should have thought of a Medal of Honor. I mean shit, he sacrificed his life for his crew, pretty cut and dried:confused:
  11. The dual snubber's were installed to fix the problems with the doors that had a single snubber, and the damage caused by single snubber when you took the cargo door switch straight to closed. On E-Models you always had to go to open for a second or two before going to closed, otherwise you stood a chance of ripping out the uplock. As for the specific systems knowledge on how dual vs single works...brain is empty at the moment, if it pops into my head I will put it up here. Dont mess with your brain, the results power sucks:mad:

    Hero

This is the definition of a true Hero, not some sports weenie or creapy little band member, a REAL HERO:) A fellow brother of the Prop! http://www.military.com/news/article/navy-pilots-last-act-saving-3-crew-mates.html?ESRC=airforce-a.nl
  13. Nope Well I didn't get too bad of a creeps feeling in the house but its still quite possible, but I dont think it will ever be quite as bad as things are at my house here in Florida:eek: Many thanks for the good wishes:)
  14. I know that E and H are the same in this. One thing thats not really clear in the picture is, the door actuator is hooked to a dogleg thingy on the door and when you select "Open" on the cargo door it moves the dogleg thingy to actuate the locks open so the door can open. Now H models and HC/MC-P aircraft have a dual actuator, not sure why the H had them but the rescue/spec ops birds have them because of the increased weight of the door and what is supposed to be stored in the door. Okay guys, let the beating start on what I'm wrong about
  15. Okay, you start with Basic Airspeed (BAS), corrected to Indicated Airspeed (IAS), corrected to Calibrated Airspeed (CAS), corrected to Equivalent Airspeed (EAS) corrected to True Airspeed (TAS). So TAS is the "most correct" airspeed and the biggie, this is the first one corrected for Density Altitude, Density Altitude is what the prop knows and you get a more accurate airspeed (atmospherically) using TAS. Now why we always fly off of IAS and not TAS.....I dont remember off hand????!!!!
  16. What really sucked for me was our primary instructor for the academics and camping trip was a buddy of mine and (unfortunately) he publicly acknowledged our friendship. Now this can only go one or two ways, he could make it really easy for me OR he could single me out and make my life hell just so he could prove he didn't do favoritism Guess which option John chose?
  17. I dont think your going to see any Herks spraying the oil spill. For some reason 12 days go by before the president says anything and then its just to blame BP. The head of the EPA has NEVER said anything about the spill. Strangely enough there seems to be an enormous amount of non-response from the gubbermint. I wont start any of the possible conspiracy theory's here.
  18. This is my future bedroom, its the big attic room and its 15 x 30:eek: It will be nothing to laminate some 2x4's and rework the truss system so that it goes to the outside edge of the room instead of sticking strait down. The other two attic rooms are 15 x 20 and 16 x 16
  19. Now I know where my brain went, you sucked it dry when you were my student:rolleyes: Hey, you ready to go do some crimes man?:D
  20. Yep, a well armed liberal with common sense and a desire to kill:D I actually like to model myself after my favorite liberal, Count VladIII Dracula Hes a really swell fella Better yet, I am only a couple hours south of Zak (shadoif), we can get together and do some crimes and stuff:cool:
  21. Well I don't know about the Bates Motel, the smoke house puts me more in mind of "Farmer Vincents Smoked Meats" if you know what I mean:rolleyes: NW Indiana (Monterey IN), about 100 miles SE of Chicago so yep, its going to get a little chilly I think but hey - no hurricanes!! I think its been vacant for a couple of decades, I paid less for the whole deal than the Historical Foundation did to put a new roof on the place - you cant beat that. I was looking for a few hundred acres in the middle of nowhere OR a place in a small town, heck this place don't even qualify as a town, its a tiny farming village with 230 folks and as far as I can tell talking to them not a liberal among them;)
  22. Hopefully not, but it could barely be worse than the house here in Crestview for strange stuff but then again this house has been there since 1868. We just sent in the closing papers about three weeks ago and the closing was official on the 30th of last month. The move is going to really suck (but don't they all) but am really excited to get started on the place, lake effect snow here I come:eek: This is a shot from the back of the property, the red brick building is my 10x15 smoke house
  23. Did I say that I am moving outta Florida next month? Cant remember if I did or not. (heres my 14,900 house)
  24. If you guys want to stop an obortion of the first water, make sure you write to your congressmen and senators and demand that the SecNav does NOT name a ship after this murtha POS. I really cant belive it, can you imagine the poor Marines that will get stuck on a ship with the traitors name? Only thing this buttmuncher deserves is a sunken garbage barge. Dead and still screwing Marines
  25. Pelosium: A major research institution has just announced the discovery of the densest element yet known to science. The new element has been named Pelosium.. Pelosium has one neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 224 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 311. These particles are held together by dark forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. The symbol of Pelosium is PU. Pelosium's mass actually increases over time, as morons randomly interact with various elements in the atmosphere and become assistant deputy neutrons within the Pelosium molecule, leading to the formation of isodopes. This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientist to believe that Pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass. When catalyzed with money, Pelosium activates CNNadnausium, an element that radiates orders of magnitude more energy, albeit as incoherent noise, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons as Pelosium.
