  1. Hea! I live in Macon Ga. in line with the north south runway Robins A.F.B. it about 15 miles I can't get anything done when those fans of freedom come over and the C-5 and all the big boys line up.There gear is down when they come over.I just have to check them out take some pic's.

  2. Way back when I was a crewchief in the 61st at Sewart. The Flight Engineer was the NCOIC on most of the flights I was E-4 and the load was E-4 or E-3 so we depended on him for advice at times. And most of them took care of us green horns on TDY'S. So I say Hats Off the Flt.Eng.

  3. Sewart AFB had a good chow hall the NCO Club had a great lunch and dinner. As a sgt E-4 we was welcome. The Flight line snack bar was real good. The Bowling alley snack bar was real good also.

  4. Rate your chow halls! My best was at Midway NAS.The food was great the service was good. The food might have been good because I hadn't had a meal in over eight hours. Midnight chow was always the best SOS hot you can't beat it over scramble eggs love that still make it once in awhile. But truly from a country boys stand point all the food was good if you had been use to eating cornbread and beans everyday.

  5. DITTO! And no post involving a WWII/Korea Vet will ever be "too long".

Good job Will one of my best good friend is a WWII AAF Vet he was a tail gunner on one of the bombers not sure. He and the Nav. are the only ones left. He was in the 8th Air Force.I will ask him again he has told me but old age. I see almost everyday he is a tough old man like all Vets.
