I just thought of something The gubbermint needs money The boneyard has oodles of Herks and starlizards write your congrescritter and get them to pass a law authorizing sales of non demilled aircraft to the general public, that could result in BILLIONS in income. A historical note, until JFK/LBJ, joe citizen could go to any of the boneyards and buy any aircraft in there; that program was stopped for reasons unknown in 1963, its time to open it back up again and see more Herks hitting the sky. What do ya think

Sam, what would you advise a guy to do with old stories. I've written down a few over the yrs about various C-130 incidents, screwups, accidents and Pho-pa's. I'd love to share them. I'm not an author like you & don't have that many anyway. But I bet they'd be fun to read for somebody out there. Your advise pls ? Thnx

I was pretty much a trash hauler and 18 series CC. but got mixed up with the 7th guys a few times. Fun group to go tdy with!! Kind of "tacky" video, but some good mc-130 shots in it. Just came across a 5 min. clip of the 130s being built at "How Stuff Works". For those who haven't toured the Herk plant it gives a thumb nail view of the operation. Also on U Tube , type in C-130 and scroll down to "C-130 Hercules Progress Report 1955" ...13 very interesting minutes on building and testing the "New Herk". Bill P.S. can anyone post a link?

Does anyone know of ANG's plans for repair of the T56 engines that are sent to Standard Aero. Their commitment to the contract will be expire in Feb 2014. Rumor is that they will be going back to JEIM level repair. Are they going to establish Engine Regional Repair Center (ERRC), Queen Bees, or JEIM back shops at each base?
