Muff Millen
Just got back from a 2 wk cruise in the Med. On one of the ships tours we visited Pisa. On the way back the bus passed an Italian AF base....as we passed I jumped to my feet and saluted smartly as there on the ramp were 12 gray painted Herks. Only one had pylon tanks, all the others looked like the old B models. Anyone have any info on these? Muff
bobdaley
Hi Muff Italian AF has 21 C130J's at Pisa. They sold all their old H's and they have a bunch of G-222's stored at Pisa. tinyclark
While I was at Ramstein, they came up every year with a few technicians and all of their broken APN59 parts. The aircraft would drop them off them and then pick them up the next week. They'd take orders for wine, salamis, cheeses, whatever and bring it back when the picked their guys up. We always let them raid our bench stock too.
