RomeoDelta
Between May 1965 to Dec 1967 A/C 64-0560 carried 6.4 million lbs of cargo. Mostly in the form of test cargo used for LAPES drops. Will post pictures when I learn to use my new scanner.
jmitch
Looking for info on C-130E, 64-0560 (C/N 4063). I have pictures and info related tom this A/C at El Centro NAF (1967). This C-130E was record holder for weight carried. Will post when I have time. RomeoDelta What is the weight record for the C-130 (one flight)? SEFEGeorge
Not sure how much it weighted but once carried 2 full fuel bladders from San Antonio to Tapachula, Mexico. Not the elephant balls but the large flat kind. Took up the entire cargo compartment. E model, basic crew, 2 fuel specialists, and max aircraft fuel. Support for the Guatemala earthquake relief in Feb '76. Anyone know what the weight of those bladders were?
gizzard
I flew a couple of these type missions, George, and I think each bladder was about 3,000 gallons, and what with the off load equipment and all, I think that was approachin' 42K or so. I do remember this, one of them was the first gaggle I want on by myself after CTF and TAC checks. Some bare base operation, and I can remember how damn close we were to the max landing weight where ever we were goin'. Giz
jrkaegi
In Aug 1985 a 6594th Test group C 130 P A/c 225 inflight refuels a CH 47D

Giz Based on that figure Giz, and estimating 79K OW + 63K fuel, I think that put us near 175K GW or slightly over. But what the hell did I know, I was a newbie FE with 5 months flight experience after Phase II qual and 1 ROTE to Moldyhole. If we'd losr an engine after take-off we would have been just smoking hole in the ground somewhere in San Antonio.

Herkpilot
I came off the boom during the whole Haiti thing at well over 175k... with a 13k service ceiling during January over the Caribbean was as heavy as I have ever been and ever want to be. We had blanket 165k t/o land waivers and used them every day. Edited September 5, 2012 by Herkpilot
