munirabbasi
I was astonished to examine the abnormal noise observed from RGB when GEN was removed found no abnormal during hand rotation. when the generator disassembled found rotor has rubbing sign but bearings are absolutely normal. what could be possible reason of rotor and stator are staking each other when bearing are servicable
NATOPS1
You cannot spin the generator fast enough by hand to make a rotor spin out of balance. The generator when driven at 100% rotates at 6000 RPM.
munirabbasi
Dear NATOPSI Sir i have investigated the generator defect it was really bearing problem which you have mentioned. End plate bearing was wear off , due this reason stator & rotor stack each other The generator is CID part No so there no provision of bearing failure system any how A/C was escape from happening Once again apology delay response Investigation revealed that problem with bearing end plate.clearness increase due to temperature or at time of bearing replaced the proper clearness was not checked as per T.O so bearing outer move wear off the bearing as my opinion. are you agree Sir NATOP1 Regards Munir Abbasi ATI home of hercules training center pakistan Edited August 23, 2014 by munirabbasi Generator Defect Investigation
