Railrunner130
Did Savannah get their airplanes factory-fresh? If so, those are probably the first "one-owner" Herks to go to the boneyard.
bobdaley
Yes they were factory fresh to Savannah. The 78's were originally OK ANG and ended up Pitt AFRC The 79's were originally MS ANG then spread around and finally consolidated at Reno. Railrunner130
I've got a lot of time in probably all of the 78-82 year airplanes on this list. Some of those tail numbers make me shudder. But, in the end, at least they did their job safely and ended up at DM instead of part of an accident report. I did hear that Reno will be all-H3 shortly if not already. bobdaley
I wonder if Pitt is getting H-3's, 4 of their H's are already at the boneyard? Bob
Railrunner130
I was on their ramp last spring and they had at least one other tail there. I don't recall what it was though.
bobdaley
last year they had 2 others 87-9287 and 89-1055. They also had 2 of their 78's at Little Rock with the reserve Sq there. Bob

Do they get replacements, or just operate short two planes? Are these planes replaced with newer H's or replaced with a J Mod. Ken

bobdaley
Just saw a nice picture of 93-7311 flying out of Reno painted in Reno ANG colors. Ex Cheyenne. As part of this H shuffle it looks like Peterson and Cheyenne are being reduced to 8 aircraft.
Railrunner130
Sounds like that's the standard PAA for "legacy" airplanes It has been Bob
