  6. 41st TAS out of Naha Naha to Yokota to pick up the band. 2000 feet from the end of the runway, smoke in the cockpit. Attempted a return and had to ditch. Aircraft went down in the Okinawa Trench which is 15 to 20, 000 feet deep so it was not recovered. Cause of the crash was "catastrophic failur of the bleed ait duct above the ATM which ignited the hydraulic reservoir Apr 10 1970 560516 Okinawa. I have some info I can fax you. 11. Hi Tiny I think what he wants is more a photo of the nav station. showing all the nav gear. He was a Herk nav at Dyess, I think 64 to 69 Bob
  12. Anyone have a picture of a C-130E Nav station from the late 60's era, maybe from a -1? Thanks Bob
  13. The only flyable A with 3 bladed props is ex RAAF 3212 N131EC repossessed and sitting at the old England AFB in Alexandria LA. Probably has not flown in three years. A company JNS in NM repo'd it. Wombat can tell yopu all about it. Bob
  14. Anyone have a picture of the patch for the 133TAS NH ANG. Thanks Bob
  15. I tried posting this once and it got lost. Can anyone help this lady get Nam benefits for her dad. Thanks Bob My name is Donna Suen. I am the daughter of retired MSgt. A.J. Green. I found his name on this forum. Jrkaegi had mentioned his name and the tail # of his plane on this forum. bobdaley mentioned that my dad still hung out at the VFW in Jacksonville. I am trying to help my dad get service connected disabilty from the VA. They denied us because we couldn't prove that he was "boots on the ground" in Vietnam. I have a picture of my dad, and another service man in front of the "Saphire" (as it is spelled on the plane), but it doesn't prove he was in Vietnam. I was told that it didn't matter if he got the Vietnam Service Medal because lots of people got the medal and never went to Vietnam. I am in search of anyone who can help me prove that they served with my dad in Vietnam. I had Senior Master Sergeant James Gilbert write a letter, but that wasn't enough. My dads orders were for Okinawa and Ubon. I know he went TDY to Vietnam, but there are no records of it according to the VA. I was told either records weren't kept properly or that they could've been destroyed years ago in a fire were the records had been kept (St. Louis). My dad is currenlty living in an assisted living facility in Arkansas. He is having to pay out of pocket to live there. He has diabetes, hypertension and Parkinson's disease. They only awarded him 30% for his hypertension and a ankle injury. He meets the criteria for Agent Orange. I can't proceed with an exam because I don't have proof of him actually being in Vietnam. My dad's memory if terrible. It maybe by choice I'm not sure, he's very complicated. He never talked about any of his time in the service with me growing up. Any help woud be greatly appreciated or if you know of anyone who can help me my email address is [email protected]. Thank you, Donna Suen (daughter of MSgt A.J. Green)
  16. Looking for any other units that flew Airlift Support Herks. Not regular Airlift Squadrons. Also looking for tail numbers of any Herks that were used as Airlift Support. Thanks Bob
  17. Still looking for the tail number. Can anyone help out? Thanks Bob
  18. I am trying to help someone looking into ANG Airlift Support Herks. Aircraft flown by ANG non airlift units, mostly fighter units. Years ago they were a way to replace the old C-131's/ T-29's flown by the ANG I made up a list with what I had notes on but I know I missed some. Any help would be appreciated. The letters at the end just refer to the model. 19. I saw pictures of these two Peru L-100's on the net awhile back. Last i heard Peru had 5 L-100's left of which 2 were flyable FAP 397 4850 and FAP 382 4706. The other three are stored, I heard they are corroded. FAP 384 4715, FAP 394 4358 and FAP 398 4853 Anyone know which of the stored L-100's these pics are? Bob
  20. There was talk of replacing the three bladed props back in the 60's but nothing was done about it until after Jul 1975 when they killed a crew from the 63 TAS on 57-0454 in Michigan when a prop failed. Then almost all the remaining USAF A's got 4 bladed props Bob
  21. It was 56-0477 from USAF records. Also from USAF records 56-0476 was given to SVAF in 1972. Last seen rotting at Tan Son Nhut. Bob
  22. That should leave 3 HC-130P's at Moody 64-14852, 65-0982, 0986. 0982 is next to AMARG. In the back of the picture in the article Andy posted appears to be wingless 65-0994, which was supposed to be on display at Moody. Bob
