1. I tried to attach all four pics to the reply above. No luck. I'll do them one at a time.
2. Two places to check are Fritz Wester at TBM or with the Wombat at National aircraft. You might also check IAR in Chandler. There were 6 A's sold by H&P for parts. They are stil sitting in Greybull, you might contact their owners, one is Total Aerospace in Miami. Also check DERCO, they have lots of parts but I am not sure about A's. Honduras may have the parts on their other A's. THey got 5 A's/D's. They crashed one right away 556 ex 57-0487 in only 5 months back in 1986. 557 ex 55-0003 is stored at Teguch. 558 ex 55-0015 is the one you are trying to repair. 559 ex 57-0476 had a fire and the remains are at La Ceiba. 560 ex 54-1635 is also stored at Tecguch. Should be plenty of parts. Bob

6. In early January 63-7823 was flying in AMC at Little Rock with a lot of time until it had to be grounded. Tuesday it showed up at DM. It was not inducted into AMARG but was towed right into the ARM yard. It is supposed to be "being prepared for road transport". Anyone know why it was sent out to Tucson even though it seemed to have a lot of time on it? Anyone know where it is going? Or why it was not processed through AMARG? Thanks Bob I'll try to attach some pictures from the Wombat.
7. Has anyone been to Indonesia in awhile? At one time they had 30 Herks. I have not seen anything on them in awhile. I just got an e mail that said they thought their first B, A-1301 3546 had been scrapped. Last report I had on that one was it was damaged in 1987 and never flew again, stored at Bandung. Can anyone update the Indonesian Herks? Thanks Bob
8. 74-1683 crashed, 74-2065 went back to hauling trash at Dyess, 74-1686 is in WRB Museum Bob
9. Bill We had a small memorial to him at the 68 TAS at Kelly too. Whenever I see a picture of the HTTB aircraft, I think of him. Bob

Mc-130e

A while back we talked about the MC-130E's and I mentioned a rumor that I heard that at least 4 MC-130E's were going to the 189 AS in Idaho. Supposedly the 189 was BRAC'd. I just got an e mail today that said 4 stored MC-130E's had been sent to ID. Can anyone confirm it? is the 189 going to become an SOS or are they just going to haul trash with them? Thanks Bob

Amp

Got some answers, all 3 are still in development testing at Edwards. Development testing ends in April . After D testing all 3 will end up at LRF ANG. St Joe and then Pope will be the first 2 units. Bob A while back we talked about AMP. There were three H's involved 91-1239 from Louisville 89-9101 from Youngstown via Maxwell 94-6704 from WV via LRF Have they finished testing? Have they gone back to their units or what units are they going to? What is the status of the AMP program, is it going ahead? Thanks Bob
14. Contact Fritz Wester at [email protected] He can fill you in on whatever you need. Here is a pic of the operational Honduras Herk. 3042 FAH 558. It had an overhaul in Chile not too long ago. Looks good from the paint job Bob
15. 53-3396 1001 was scrapped at Robins in 1960 53-3397 1002 was used for engine testys at Allison in Indianapolis and scrapped at Indy in 1962. Bob
16. USAF got 15 of them. They went to LRF first. 12 became EC-130H's and 3 ended up with E flight in PACAF. Bob
17. As to the question about the Super E's, they were 1973 E models with -15 engines. After the SEA fun was over, PACAF got at least 3 of the "Super E's" These were painted gray and operated as E flight in PACAF until they were blessed and became H's and transfered to Dyess in 1997. The tails were 73-1582, 1597 and 1598. They are still at Dyess. Bob
18. I think the site defaults to 1 Jan for birthdays. Mine is 18 Oct. But you are right, it should be in the Ancient History Section Bob
19. Did you take a picture? Bob
20. Hi All, I got this picture from one of the yards in Tucson. \"Beef Steak\"\' is stamped in a number of places on the fuselage. This was on 57-0463 but it was reported on other fuselages. The only reference I heard to Beef was a Red Horse CE outfit calling itself \"Prime Beef\"? Anyone have a clue? Thanks bob http://herkybirds.com/images/fbfiles/images/57_0463_beef_steak.jpg
