"BALLS TO THE WALL" IS A TERM THAT PILOTS USE THAT HAS ORIGINS FROM THE EARLIER DAYS OF FLIGHT, WHEN THE THROTTLE, PROP CONTROL, AND MIXTURE HAD KNOBS THAT MADE IT EASIER
FOR THE PILOT TO GRIP ...FULL FORWARD TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ..."BALLS TO THE WALL."
St Louis Approach control...
St. Louis Approach to United:
"United 123 best forward speed to the outer marker, you are Number 1."
United 123 (male voice): “Roger, balls to the wall."
St. Louis Approach to American:
"American 4321, you're Number 2 behind a United 737, follow him, cleared visual, at best forward speed."
American 4321 (female voice):
"Well I can't do balls to the wall, but I can do wide open."
-Radio silence-
Unidentified Pilot (male voice): "Is American hiring?"

Damn, now I know why I watch that channel.

Ken,
It is too late for you, but for the young ones out there (I'm 73) I will say it again. Keep all of the paperwork you recieve. I mean all of it. Never know when it will help in the future.
-
Thanks Bob I got them.
-
Just a thought.

Does any one have a list of the tail numbers of the C-130J,s that the 317th has recieved. I don't think this is covered by comsec seeing as how they are painted on the tails of the acft.
This is for me as I would like to know what they are.
Thanks in advance.

topboltzto400,
I took and blew that picture up an it looks to me that there is Greek roundral on the side of the acft.
Could that is why we have not seen anything abot it?
-

That is just what I want but don't know how to do it.

Dutch, I may have some but not certain. I have some of the personal effects of my friend Don Thomas who was killed tragically a few years ago. He collected a lot of stuff. I know I saw some master sergeant chevrons in there but they may have been in the stuff I took to the TCTAA convention for the auction. I'll look and see if I still have them.
Sam I sure would apershate (SP) it if you could.
I will pay all poostage for you to ship it to me I only need one.
Contact me at [email protected].
Thanks in advance.

Anyone have a list of the tail numbers yet?
-
Yes the sucess is due to Casey, I do not know how he keeps up with all of it.
When Hercules.net is down I don't worry about it fore I know Casey will get it up and running.
Thanks so much Buddie.
-
Thanks Casey, Looks complete too me.
I crewed her at Evreux and at Lockbourne.
Say one small thing you show: wfu as waiting future use, the more common use is withdrawn from use.
No biggie.
Thanks so much for all of the great job you are doing on this great web site.
