C-130 News: A New Era Takes Flight

  • Herky Hill Question

Jeff, I remember that big move well. I was at CRB with my plane and the big swap was going to take place in typical military order with a little class. All  of our E's were getting ready to start up and leave in a controlled order. It might have been a cool thing, but I missed it! We were ready to go and I was on the ground cord and we were going through the checklist and when it came to checking the props neither my #2 or #3 would feather!  Anyway, 62-1804, along with me and my assistant, John

    FRENCH/US C130 TECHNICAL MANUAL 1966

Hello friends. I would need your knowledge concerning this technical manual. The French Air Force only received these C130s in 1986/1987. Who was this manual intended for? Thanks for your help. Laurent

    Herky Hill Question

Hey Ken another Naha Sparkchaser here. I do remember in late 69 early 70 we Naha and the "A"s moved from TSN to CRB right after Christmas when the CCK "E"s moved from CRB to TSN. I remember spendin many a night drinking beers at the Hooch I left CRB in March for Naha then DEROS'd to states in June. Was back over in 71-72 at Ubon chasing sparks on the F-4 and B-57G.during end of Linebacker I and going into Linebacker II.

    Herky Hill Question

Dennis, welcome to the forum. I kind of figured there were no new "old " guys left. Your dates kind of coincide with my idea when Herky Hill was built!  Now, another question. I spent many days and nights living at Herky Hill through June 1970. First with A models from Naha and then with E models from CCK.  For some reason, I can't remember when the Herky Hootch (the bar) was built. Also, how about the officers quarters and club?  It seemed like almost every time I returned to CRB and the Hill,

One Sunday, in counting the money in the weekly offering, the Pastor of a small church found a pink envelope containing $1,000. It happened again the next week! The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her. "Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you put $1,000

Bob was staring sadly into his beer and sighed heavily. “What’s up Bob?” asked the bartender… It’s not like you to be so down in the mouth.” “It’s my five year old son…” Bob replied. “Don’t tell me, he’s in trouble for fighting in school? – my lad’s just the same – forget about it; it happens to boys that age,” said the bartender, sympathetically. “ I only wish it was that,

Two antennas meet on a roof, fall in love and get married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.   Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, "I've lost my electron." The other says, "Are you sure?" The first replies, "Yes, I'm positive..."   A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."   Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.
