Hundreds of jet decoys can fly from Hercules 'birdcages' US manufacturers have carried out a flight test that might change the way air battles are fought. In future, rather than sexy jet fighters or massive bombers, the aircraft which crush an enemy dictator's air defences could be ordinary cargo haulers – each of which could launch a hundreds-strong armada of small robot planes into the fray. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/05/31/mald_hercules_launch/

Hi Guys, I'm sure that 99% of your Certificates of Training from the AF have gone the way of mine- due to a new FAA ruling I can get a CFI / II w/o the dreaded Check ride if I can Produce a Cert of Training- Call AF and the 35 Years in service chief dad not idea where to find the course number or the pass code from the 87-88 era. Being as how I do not ever want to take a FAA employee Check ride- (I'll just go ahead and fill out his paper work for the Q3)- any help with a somewhat similar PAS Code and Course number will be very much appreciated- although I'm like most 130 pilots they have been lost in the abyss. PS did any of you guys fly tail number 72-1969 it…

Sam McGowan, are you out there? I was just reading through the C-130 humor posts and thought of that incident in early 1964 at Pope when a bunch of newbies got to talking back and forth to each other on the aircraft radio and were broadcasting all over civilian air waves. It was anything but funny. Do you recall the details and repercussions? Chris

In 1958 I was given a Lockheed about 2" round screwdriver by the crew chief on an A model. The airplane had come down from Japan was supporting some F100's that had come here for exercises. The driver has served ne well and had been stolen two times, but old age has caught up with it. Can any one tell me how I could obtain another. Many thanks Col Tigwell

An engineer who was killed when he was sucked into a Hercules plane engine at Woodbourne Airport near Blenheim this morning has been named by police. Miles Hunter, 51, from Renwick was killed during a "routine maintenance operation" at the airfield's engine testing area about 8.15am. Tasman police acting district commander Inspector Steve Caldwell said emergency services performed CPR on Hunter, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was employed by Safe Air, a subsidiary of Air New Zealand. Caldwell said police were assisting with a Department of Labour investigation. A source said Occupational Safety and Health were on site and the C-130 Hercules eng…

Wellington - A New Zealand aircraft engineer died after he was sucked into an aircraft engine while carrying out maintenance work, it was reported on Monday. Safe Air did not detail how the man died but Fairfax Media said sources had informed it he was sucked into the engine of a C-130 Hercules that had been removed from the aircraft and installed in the airline's testing bay. I consider a Music Video by Billy Ray Cyrus one of the best of all times as a tribute to all Vets. To view and hear his song, type in "youtube, some gave all, Billy Ray Cyrus", on a search engine. Would love to hear your feedback here. Happy Vets day.

Flood lites were already in place and this HerkyChicken sure looked sad.. Policy was, fly it in 48 hours or burn it... We scabbed over the remains and it was ferried to the PI.. CC was a buck sgt. .. He was very upset that his acft was hurt.. Hardest worker on the crew.. I'm the one talking to the MP.. Any one remember this?? Jack..........
