This video almost makes me miss commercial flying, except for all the crap you have to put up with. Also good if you like big jets Click here: YouTube - The FE's Lament 2010 HD Another good one. In fact, check out all of Balleka's videos on YouTube. MK Airlines is a British registered 747 cargo airline owned by Mike Kruger. They were originally registered in Ghana & would only hire Rhodesians. Click here: YouTube - Balleka's Channel#p/u/6/TesxpJdZWO8 Don R. PS -- Oh, how many times have I thought "clowns to the left of me; jokers to the right."

If you live in one of these states and have signed a petition against Fag marriages, your name may be listed on a several different sites by name county, city, zip and street address. The primary purpose of posting these names if for retribution, harassment and violence from peter puffing activists. So if your name is there be warned and fix bayonets. Here's one of the sites listing names (I feel really left out, they haven't included me and I know I have signed lots and lots of these petitions). http://knowthyneighbor.org/ Dan

Got a comm from one of my nephews, Cameron. He's a crew chief on the Marine Ospreys. Sounds like they are keeping him damn busy. Heres a big thank you for all the kids and old farts out there keeping the mission moving forward in-spite of inept political intervention. Dan

I was looking for images of the V22 from a little soirée, the 58th Special Operations Wing put on a few weeks back. It was one of those "we would like to use your property to conduct our training exercises" kind of deals. I took a few good pics and film - but wanted something better. Anyways... I found this lovely PDF at their website. http://www.aetc.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-070103-004.pdf At first glance it looks as though the USAF owns every bit of airspace, except for Deming, Taos, and southern Colorado. Not much in Deming. And Taos is full of liberal peace loving anti gun war hippies and artists. So no loss there. I like to imagine that the poster was …

2/17/2010 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- The first woman to serve as major general in the Air Force, and the Department of Defense, passed away Feb. 15. Retired Maj. Gen. Jeanne M. Holm is credited as the single driving force in achieving parity for military women and making them a viable part of the mainstream military. The Portland, Ore., native attained the rank of two-star general in 1973 after a career that began 31 years earlier in 1942 when she enlisted in the Army. General Holm entered Women's Army Air Corps in January 1943 where she received a commission as third officer, the WAAC equivalent of second lieutenant. General Holm also became the first woman to atten…

Saw Season 13 Episode 3 of Top Gear on BBC America Monday night. In one segment James May comes to an airfield in the California desert to ride with Stunt and Rally driver Ken Block. I didn't catch the name of the airfield but it appeared to be an old military base (ammo igloos). In a couple of quick scenes there was what appeared to be a camo painted civilian Herk. Anyone know where this is and which aircraft?

I think he needs a good bayonetting, how can you have peace with a group who's sole goal is to destroy you and your way of life.

I've been a bit out of touch with all things Air Force since trading in that green ID for the blue one....hard to believe 15 years have gone by. Anyone have any insight on the Command Chief Master Sergeants? Did this replace the First Sergeant? Know this is a herk forum but thought perhaps someone more recently retired, or still active might be able to save me from Google. (I retired early T.Q.M) Thanks much!

This is in response to PACAF’s post about crew chiefs doing favors. His post got me to thinking so I started a new thread so as not to hijack his.. First of all, this is not a USAF bashing rant – it’s just some of my personal observations. It never ceases to amaze me about the differences between military C-130 and commercial L-100 operations. I can honesty say that I have never “intentionally broken†an airplane just to stay in some garden spot or to visit the family – or for any other reason. Although the C-130 and the L-100 are basically the same airframe, there are minor differences, such as the lower cockpit windows, the battery bus systems…

After flying as a pax and touring the flight deck cockpit I am wondering how in the world anyone can manage to sleep on the bed that is in the cockpit. Was it made for very small crewmembers or what? The mattress on the bunk had to be designed by a massocist! One load master told me that he had a hammock in his bag.I thought he was pulling my johnson but then he showed it to me.But still I was told that the bunk was mainly used to just store bags and stuff on.What gives? What is a augmented crew? And who gets the bunk?

Hey Crew Chiefs, any stories about doing favors for flight crews? We were one our way from McClellan to Hickam when I heard Maj._____ our nav make a comment that his kids lived on one of the islands and it had been four years since he had seen them. He asked the AC if there was anyway we could "break" the acft and give hiim a chance to visit them. This mission was just an out and back. Honestly, this was on of my least favorite crews. Hearing this kind of touch me, and being on headset, I told him I thought that could be arranged. When we touched down I asked the AC to feather one of the engines and write it up for a runaway engine. He did and after parking I called…
