Knowing them, they\'ll find a way to blame the U.S. and oh yeah, the Holocaust NEVER happened.

Actually, you\'re right. If I remember correctly, they said there was an engine failure, then blamed the U.S. for not supplying the parts to keep their fleet airworthy. If they\'re not airworthy, why are they still flying them? I\'m sure Russia would be happy to supply them with some An-24\'s or IL-76\'s, especially with all the oil money they\'re making.

B) Antonovs and Ilyushins also have an unfortunate tendency to suffer from decelration trauma, due to poor maintenance and lack of parts. They\'ve been taking a beating in Africa recently, where the Antonovs have been completely banned in DRC airspace. So somehow this must also be the fault of the US:unsure:

It was reported recently that the Iranian government tried to charge four staff members of Mehrabad airport and four employees of Mehrabad Air Basea with negligence, sabotage or violation of procedure with respect to the disaster. They were unsuccesful.

There seems to be a hint of possible sabotage/retribution in this incident. Also the pilot was not allowed to land the stricken C-130 as a minister was taking off from the aiport at the same time and the air space had been closed. The first crew refused to fly as it was mechanically unsound.
