  1. I keep hearing that Crew Chiefs did not fly , but 90% of the time that was the first thing the Engineer would ask "YOU FLYING WITH US TODAY CHIEF" I know for myself, I flew every mission I had a chance to go on.

  2. They were some great pictures, brings back a lot of good memorys.

I should know you , but can't remember that far back, I was at Naha in the 21 from July 67 to Jan 69, Worked first in the Phase docks and then went out on the flight line on 56 543

  3. Good luck with that, when I left Naha I was told that I had the requirements for an Air Medal.and was given an Air medal by the awards officer. Well after I was discharged I sent a letter asking about the paper work and was told they had no information So here I set with an Air Medal and no paper work. Really made me mad as hell!!!

  4. What great memorys. Hard to belive they happen so long ago. I got to Naha late 67 and was assigned to the Phase docks , than in 68 when out to the flight line on 56 543 till she went back to the states in early 69 when I headed home too. I remember just about everything you have been talking about. Good times!!!!!

I would think so too., I got to Naha July 67 and went to work in the Phase docks . I was on the 2nd shift and then came out of the docks and was the Assistant on 56 543 under Rick Wockles, When he left I took over as Crew Chief. till the bird went back to the states in Feb of 69 Oh and yes that was a 2ist bird.
