  1. I can tell you that 86-1398 does not have this installed yet.
  2. Ha! Try about 7 months before you get to see a doctor here in Arkansas! I filed my claims in June & wasn't seen until Jan.
  3. Whether or not they illuminate during braking depends on if the pilot is applying enough brake pedal force to cause a tire skid. If not, the lights do not come on. If he does, and this depends on many factors like gross weight, runway conditions, etc., the lights will illuminate when the antiskid control box detects a skid and is cycling the anti-skid control valves to dump brake pressure. They'll go out when that cycle is complete.
  4. Yeah, but was is it the right answer? hehe
  5. Yeah, cause generally the mx chief is alot fatter.
  6. The newer IFF transponders allow you to put in some text.
  7. I'm only familiar enough to know it's the 3rd AMP modified bird, just completed PDM, and was just delivered to Edwards for further AMP testing yesterday. Supposedly, it wasn't the acft involved. The alleged incident I'm wondering about supposedly did involve structural damage.
  8. Can anyone share info on what happened at Robins concerning a fuel vent plug?
  9. RZ, you have a point, and I get it. But it's still not ideal when the stud is just trying to learn at the beginning. I guess nothing can be ideal these days, huh? Didn't see the AK bird yet...
  10. Nothing like having the configuration nightmare of the H2 at the schoolhouse when students are trying to figure out where things are! So far they've got 4 H2s. Youngstown, Pope, Maxwell & Texas have all given one so far.
  11. Ok, so this really doesn't apply to the USAF birds then?
  12. So this is a recent TCTO? I thought I remember hearing about it years ago. Thanks for the info guys!
  13. Does anyone know roughly how many aircraft have this modification? It's the noise cancelling mod in the flight deck. A plus would be to know which aircraft in particular have it. Thanks
  14. Wait, that page in the current H-1 and H(K)-1 doesn't say that. It says the APU generator will power the main ac bus when the ac bus tie switch is placed in the on position. What book is that from TenTen?
  15. The E model doesn't have any capability to tie the ESS & MAIN AC busses, the ATM is only a 20kva, which we overload to 30 using cooling air. I've never heard of the function on the H going through the SPR panel?? Educate me please! I know the K11 (K53K) and all, but never heard the SPR bit before.
  16. Of course, this isn't applicable to the H3s or AMP. We don't have a specific "Loss of ESS AC" procedure. BSUs will power the AV busses from the best source. On the E, getting the ATM online is important because it takes at least two contactor relays out of the picture, in case one of those is causing your problems.
  17. Close, but not quite....but we didn't try it at really low gross weights either! We were testing what the 8-bladed props would do to the stall characteristics at different configurations. We were 100% flaps, gear up (CB pulled to get rid of horn), and power at 10,000inlbs. She broke loose into a stall somewhere between 50 & 60 kts. Don't care to repeat that...ever!
  18. Oh that's cool! I'm in the right seat instructing the young future FEs how to preflight! Nice foggy morning, huh?
  19. Of course, those numbers are probably for what...50% flaps? I'm here to tell you that you can fly an H3 100% flaps below what the IAS indicators will read (<60kts).
  20. Start control and the GCU/GCP doesn't have too much in common??
  21. We'll see how quick, all I know for sure is that the 5th airplane (#2nd kit) was inducted a couple of weeks ago. The latest schedule I've seen is that the 13th kit is the first one destined for Pope, and the induction date for that is Mar 2013.
  22. I went to the US Open there in 2000 at Pinehurst...yeah, it gets nuts, but like tiny says, you could rent your house for the week & make your mortgage payments for six months.
