  1. I thought about firefox a few times but have no understanding of how these things work.
  2. We had at least 1 of the planes with the side opening FLG doors at Sewart while I was there. When I worked at Locknut I would park in a smaller parking lot and go through the hanger where the wing stress test were taking place. It was said they had 33,000 employes working there while I was there.
  3. Thanks guys but I don't deserve any thanks, Airman Alden does. I was just the closest one to his hometown and did what I felt was right. Compared to what he has done for us I did nothing. I did try to get the video posted but with that $25. camera I think it is impossible.
  4. When I got laid off down there they tried to make me pay for a drill motor that the Co. and a union rep had taken out of my tool box while I was off work. One of the shop stewards found where the drill motor had been refurbished after I had been issued a new one.
  5. Nothing out of place took place at the funeral Sat. If anything would have happened all I could have done was plant my fat but on the seat of my walker between them and the family. We had to park about a half mile from the gate of the cemetery to watch the Patriot Guard and I thought I got video of them and stood up until the Hurse and Family cars got past us. The family had requested no cameras so I turned my camera off and put it in my pocket when the guard got past us. When the family got past us I sat on my walker with my cap over my heart till the rest of the procession got past us. I noticed a lot of people in the procession pointing cell phones and cameras at me, an old fat man with his cap over his heart sitting on a walker watching them go by. If I can figure out this camera I will try to put up the video. My daughter tried to download it to my wife's laptop last night and she couldn't figure it out so I may not be able to. She is a collage graduate and I am a high school drop out so you can figure out who is the smarter.

Those Queers that protest say they will be there. I am also gonna try to be there between the family and the protesters. Wish me luck in not being put in Jail.
  8. Anybody heard anything about Okinawa since the earthquake? We had a few small shakes while I was there. Sometimes I would get woke up and it felt like someone was holding the foot of my bunk and slideing it from side to side.

Most of the maint crew on the "A" while I was in had a big screwdriver in their back belt loop. On our missions in country from Clark that big screwdriver was our only weapon. I don't know when they changed the GTC doors.
  16. As an asst cc I was issued a 38 special and a cloth bag with 100 rounds. Nothing else for survival.

I don't recall ever seeing a Load Moment Indicator. I remember Loadmasters with a slide rule.
  18. Does Dyess still have the B52,s ?
  19. I was diagnosed a little over 7 years ago with Ischemic Heart Desiese. Last work I had done in my heart was Oct. 09. Sometime last year I saw where it was to be added to the list for disabilites so I contacted the VA clinic in Greenville Sc. and requested an AO exam. Somehow I had kept a set of orders placeing me in country for about 25 days. Seems these orders are enough to prove I was there. I have had sevral check ups at the clinic and was sent to the hospital in Columbia Sc. for a PTS evaluation. Last time I went to Columbia was 2 Dec. 10, and they want to get an EKG of my heart. As of today I haven't had the appointment set up so I am thinking about getting my Cardiogolest to do it then send the hospital the results. The clinic in Greenville said I would have to go to the VA office in my county to file a claim so I did in or about April of last year. I also have COPD and use a CPAP when I sleep. I have been on disibality for Degenative Athritus in my knees, hips and back for 6 years but that is through the SS. I am 65. Just my experience.
  20. We had a similar problem at Naha in 65 or 66 with an "A". It came back from IRAN and this was the first refuel at Naha. Vents were clear when we started. We got it almost full and a row of rivets from the front of the wing to the back all popped out, and it sounded like thunder. The row was between #3 & 4 engines. We were almost in front of the Fire Dept and they were on us like stink on chit. They put foam on it and hosed it down with water while we defueled it. The fuel got in the storm drains and washed all the way down past the Navy ramp and I guess on out to the ocean. I thought we were gonna be in some big trouble cause they ask all of us to describe what happened and how. A few weeks later I was called to the commanders office, and he said a piece of tape had been left inside the vent and there was no way we could have known about it. What a releaf that was. I do still wonder how they got fuel in it to get from IRAN to Naha!
