  1. You might not have to worry about that. With recent elections, the person in the seat of power in our state \"round house\" is not to all for defense. And they may not fight as hard to keep Cannon open the next round of base closings. :dry: I think however as long as the CV-22s continue to have Clovis for training, there should not be much of a problem.
  2. To my Dad, Bill, Smitty, everyone who has served and is currently serving. Thank you. I recall a parade in 1989. I have a classic car. I got to drive three Medal of Honor recipients . It was a great moment. I wanted to do something special for the school kids I transport, on Monday, but I was not allowed to, for fear of \"pushing some sort of agenda\". So in the end I just showed them photos of the parade and told them about the history of Veteran\'s day.
  3. I am a little late. i would like to share a story of a Marine who I got to know, while working at a hotel as a clerk. When I worked at the hotel, I had the oppurtunity to meet a few famous people. But none was more famous to me than William P. Toth. He was a crabby decript old man. Or at least that what other people thought. They never bothered to get to know him. He had no family left. How he ended up in Albuquereque, I do not know. But he would always stop by the hotel on thursday afternoons, after he had been to his doctors appointments at the VA. He was originally born in New York. He would tell me tales of his mother taking them to church at St. Patricks. He eventually told me stories of WW2, the Korean war and of Vietnam. When \"Saving Private Ryan\" came out - he had a chance to see it. He told me he didn\'t sit past 30 minutes into the movie, because he didn\'t want to see a movie about something he had lived. Instead, he would just sit in the gift shop and tell me about the horrific sights and smells of war. How the first scene on the beach in the movie was just almost as real as it could be. He explained in graphic detail about \"meat steaks\" falling from the sky. And how greasy blood is. One afternoon, someone who had come in, was getting impatient with him. I was utterly disgusted when the individual told the \"old man to shut up\". Bill was always one to keep his composure - until that fateful day of being told to shut up. The marine in him emerged. Once again to do battle with a dimwit. He gave the guy such a verbal beat down, there should have been a flag waving behind Bill and people should have been signing the national anthem. Bill made everyone realize what they take for granted that day. I wish every anti-war person could meet a \"Bill\" and then they might understand a little about their country and the people who made it so great. I miss the talks I had with Bill.   6. Which one of you lucky folks are flying the bird in the commercial? The aircraft is not the main feature of the commercial, but I thought it should be given attention.   10. I think I saw that as well. I also saw an image of a C5 with the forward fuselage of two c130\'s, being unloaded. Looked like the C5 was giving birth.
  11. In the reply to post field there are several little \"boxes\" above the reply field. They are : B i U quote code ul ol li img URL Hide. Click the one that says Img. It should give you something that looks like this > {img size=150}{/img} put the address/url of the image in between the brackets. So it looks like this {img}and the internet URL/address of wherever the image is stored online. cant be direct from the c drive{/img}

It is a standard orientation publication, with the five W\'s. It is fairly large. Each page requires to be halved and then scanned. Which is why I am asking if anyone is interested. I do not want to spend to much time, if there is no interest. I got a kick out of one page with two things titled: Money - Where to get it. Money - Where to spend it. \"Where to spend it\" Was that really a problem? :P
  19. Forgive me if I do not know what you are asking - Do you mean for the 374th TAW? The only one I recall is Santa\'s helpers. I have some patches for the 374th FMS. I believe Casey has an image of one up in the patches gallery.
