  2. You require a bigger shop/man cave. She was being serious. This is me. We have the special ops ones out of Kirtland. You can hear them when they fly out over the east mountains where I live. I will run outside and look up and wave. Just as I did when we lived at Clark. Now I am doing it with the Ospreys when they rumble over the house.
  3. If somebody were to make a scanner that could do a "control F" on a paper document, I would buy it. I have all of my father's PCS/TDY/etc papers. You have given me a date that narrows down years of documents. I dont think your name would be in there - but I can look. Speaking of Fields avenue. I loved riding the bus to school everyday. That Donald Duck bar always made us kids happy, seeing the silohuette of the dancers in the window. I am sure that the guys guarding the gate, enjoyed the view as well. :)
  4. I recall a while back that someone joined here and posted asking where they could get a herc for a commercial. I wonder if this is from that. http://herkybirds.com/showthread.php?1540-TV-Series-Needs-C-130-for-Car-Drop&p=11516#post11516
  5. Why is there no "Post pics of your Hammock" thread?
  6. HI! Sorry for any worry. Been busy. Beginning of October - Had an accident with the dog that resulted in my eyelid being lacerated to where it was flopping around. It was a looooong day that had begun around 11am and ended at around 8pm. 15 stitches and a lacrimal stent to try to salvage the duct that was lacerated. Some nice gore pics of it here > http://s417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/FrauleinM/eye%20eye%20capn/ had lots of follow ups. Probably the most petrifying thing in my life. There was a lack of coordination on the ER docs so I was out of morphine when they started on the stitching. Vision is 20/20 Also been using an iPad a lot more. Since that ios4 whatever update - the forums get all wonky and bogged down or safari shuts down completely. I saw however that I was not the only one to experience this. And holy smokes - there are 293 new posts since last visit.!
  7. It is my understanding that it was a special piece of equipment. Part number I believe is H4-MM-0cK
  8. This was over on the FB page I know. But I really have to say something http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?storyID=123261516 I do not think there has been a day without hearing that specific drone in the sky. The couple of times when I have been driving in town, I have seen them come in and then go out. They have been going non-stop.
  9. It was a nice museum. "First Lady" outside made my heart swell and brought tears to my eyes. Either that or it was the sunshine and warm humid air that i have craved for the past dozen or so years. Went to that old school putt putt golf course there. That reminded me so much of the one at Clark.
  10. Woo Hoo glad this thread is here. Had to deliver the milling machine to Muscle Schoals, AL. And we are taking the coast home back to NM. So we are traveling I-10 after Ft. Walton. Heading to the Armament museum tomorrow am.
  11. I kind of always looked at the milk stool and thought it would be better if it were designed more like a motorcycle lift (the scissor type). That way it would be small, adjustable, probably a bit lighter than wood, maneuverable, and support (I think) 2000 pounds. I know the one I have supports at least 1000. buuuuut - I dont know jack sooo..
  12. That image is faked. It has been circulating the internet since 2009 >> http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/02/osama-bin-laden-photo-fake
  13. The White House added several photos to the FLCKER stream today. They show images of the president and his staff during that operation. http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/ This one has to be the most intense. Because there are individuals in there who know exactly what is going on. And then there are those who have not seen warfare up close.

  15. Thanks. (if we had a tumbs up icon this is where it would be) I was going to re-upload the few images that I had from the previous gallery, but thought I would wait it out. My procrastination wins this time.
  16. bump - I found our old address #7, Lane 35 W. 5th St., Wu Chuan West Rd. Taichung Taiwan Wonder what it looks like now.
  17. The Air America thread had a link to a page on their site. I looked at the PDF and a few things stuck out. One of them was the use of the 374 TAW. This rung a bell in my head. I went over to a big file that my mother for some reason has held onto all these years. It is a file folder full of every special order, PCS, TDY and any paperwork relating to awards or service. There are a few "request for Autorization for change of administrative orders" that have the "relating to" marked as "gain unit classified" as well as the back side with a list of individuals and their clearances. In the field titled "remarks" is a series of numbers. Question: Is there a way I can find out more information about these orders? Or what they mean, or even some of the exercises mentioned. I have typed in some of the exercises in to a google search and only came up with maybe two results, and they are not descriptive, they are more like "this wing participated in such and such." No detail as to what "such and such" is/was. I guess maybe what I am asking is "Is there someone maybe at the air base that might be able to sit down with me and explain how to read the file. Like translate it."
  18. Normally I am not one to decorate the house - but I found this at that hippy DIY and then try to sell it site called Etsy. A custom order decal for your wall. http://www.etsy.com/listing/59845484/c130-airplanelarge-vinyl-wall-art?ref=sr_gallery_12&ga_search_query=c130&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade While perusing I also found this http://www.etsy.com/listing/68171700/stuffed-c130-grayblue?ref=sr_gallery_20&ga_search_query=c130&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade
  19. BRASS CRAP FOR THE WIN!!! That crap is sentimental to me. Tacky as all get out, but .. Off topic - when we were searching for a home, this one home the realtor told us the builder's name, which ended in Al-Khalil. And they were the owner of the home. I told the husband "Just you wait. This place will be filled with brass crap, pink/rose colored carpet and drapes will be dark reds. The fixtures will all be brass. Even the bathrooms. The master will probably look palacial and tacky with mosaic and more "gold" accents. The furniture will be the ugliest you have ever seen." I have never been so accurate in all my life. The realtor and my husband both looked at me as if I had already been in that house.
  20. Anyone mention Giant teak Fork and Spoon wall hanging? You can always tell who has been to the PI when you walk in their home and see a set on the wall. And if you have managed to hold onto every piece of teak or paulonia wood carved bowls, you are a very trendy person. I saw a set in something like Crate and Barrel catalog around a hundred bucks.
  21. Going through some items (maybe to post to CCK Facebook group or Kids of Clark Facebook group) And found a small stack of about four Philippine Flyer base papers. My mom was one of the many volunteers for the Baby Lift. I was going to sit and scan them, but after doing that for the CCK paper - I think this might probably be an effort for maybe a professional. Ideas? Have any of you used a place like Kinkos or a copy place that does archival work?
  22. No one sent it to you. That came from here >> http://herkybirds.com/showthread.php?479-So-You\-re-Going-To...Ching-Chuan-Kang&highlight=ching Glad to see that it is floating around. A little grumpy that I have gotten ZERO credit for being responsible for uploading it. Thank you internet.
  23. Aside from patches - do they need any other ephemera? heh - big word there..ephemera. Thank you DOD schools.
