Radio Tech (30150) '66-'70 at Langley AFB in 316TCS. 6 months in FMS, then 3 years in 38th TAS til it was sent to KS. Finished up with 6 months in 37TAS. Spent 6 months TDY at Tachikawa in 1968, with week-long trips in to Nha Trang and Cam Rahn.
I was the Avionics midnight shift NCOIC when Paul took off from Mildenhall. It was exciting at the TAC CP that night. Lots of stars in civies at 0430. I thought the Russians had finally done it.
Spent a month in South Korea (Taegu) with 12 or so C-130s in 1969.
We flew the 82nd into Andrews when the hippies marched on Washington, and moved the 101st to Glenview NAS for the Democrat National Convention in Chicago.
A good time was had by all.
