wysongj
I wonder where it was from. Anyone know who\'s over there right now?
AMPTestFE
Word is an 86 model. That kinda narrows it down, if that\'s accurate.
Concerned Parent
My son is a member of the air crew. All are reported well. Report is mechanical failure.
wysongj
86 narrows it a bit, might be a St. Joe bird, hope not. All are well, and thats all that matters.
hercmech14
It is tail 86-0412, former Pittsburgh airframe now assigned to the 440th at Bragg/Pope.
Dan Wilson
Pretty curious as to the reason for the unimproved set down, must have been pretty unusual/serious to do that. Dan
mc130fe
Saw the pic\'s...excellent job on the set down. This bird will fly again.
Parrot
We were told to take what we can off of it. It will be destroyed.
lownslow
Anybody have any more details on this or pictures maybe?
mc130fe
Best way to find out any info will be to get with a bases local safety office for most current info. Pic\'s are sucured up on different web link. Word of mouth or arm-chair quarter backing will be the worst thing to do. What ever happened will come out in the safety report, so until then it is best to stay tight-lipped. Parrot
ACFT was destroyed Monday. I sent pics to Bob if he would like to post. Wont let me post here. Nothing classified.
mc130fe
It will be interesting to see pic after acft destroyed. I watched UAV feed of MC-P being destroyed in A-ghan mountains in 2002, WOW.
coug74
Just found this video on youtube of the acft that landed in the field outside baghdad. . .nice landing indeed, but it looks like it wont be flying again. Gonna need alot of s/w and duct tape for a Crew chief to fix it. Thank God no one was hurt though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-xxPHStprk
EClark
It would have broke my heart to see 64-510 blown like that who made the decision look like it might have salvaged mayebe to dangerous
Dan Wilson
Man I just watched the video and I really feel like bawling:( :( An 86!! Only 22 years old, man I bet it still had that new car smell! Never ever got to fly in anything that new but I guess security being what it was they figured the safest thing to do was trash it. C130H2FE
Sad day, there goes a 9 mil center wing box, also I just saw 14 NVG cargo lights blow away, their not cheap ether! I would have thought they could have saved some more of the plane, like the flaps and such. But I\'m not there and don\'t know the conditions at the time. SEFEGeorge
Flying new planes does have some nice perks. Flew 73 H models in 75 at LRF. Even the seat cushions still had some \"cushion\" in them.
mc130fe
Take a look at the below link off the AF webpage for pic\'s.

wysongj
Good pictures. Looks like they removed just about everything they could, even the life rafts. Breaks my heart to see one blown apart even one that \"new\". I guess they did what they could. Poor girl.
Lkuest
Anyone else notice the RT horizontal stab looks like it was clipped?
wysongj
Could be a result of the missing right MLG door. The first picture does look like something ripped through a good bit of it.
herkman
We heard down here that it had a four engined roll back. Also the photos i sent to Stoney, show the floor spilt up the centre line. Sad to see a good aircarft go that way Regards Col
mc130fe
Col I\'m sure you have seen the same pic\'s I have. The way I see it all four were still turning on touchdown. None of them looked feathered.
