Came across this pic and it sure seems like a short runway. Don\'t want to land short or takeoff long. Not even sure where it\'s located. [img size=150] [img size=600]http://herkybirds.com/images/fbfiles/images/Short_runway_.jpg

I\'ve heard rumors that the 94th AW at Dobbins is going back to a full-up Tac Airlift squadron and abandoning the schoolhouse mission. Is this true, and if so, when will that take effect? Also, does anyone know if/when all of Maxwell\'s (908th AW) birds are going to be AMP\'d?

Air Force officials announced the award of two contracts to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company-Marietta, Ga., June 13 for the procurement of six modified KC-130J aircraft, and non-recurring costs associated with modifying the KC-130J. The modified KC-130Js meet the unique mission requirements of the Air Combat Command\'s search and rescue and Air Force Special Operations Command\'s special operations forces mission areas. These awards begin the recapitalization of the Air Force\'s aging fleet of CSAR and SOF HC/MC-130 aircraft, which have long been in a state of low supply and high demand and are facing mounting sustainment challenges.

It\'s worth looking at Mr Pete Taber\'s website www.herkybird.info Some of the photos are a wee bit out op proportion, especially the one I was surprised to find of me standing on a prop we were building in Thiet Sudan. It was to replace the one nearest the ground on my profile picture.

Hey Everyone! My name is Don. I\'m 17, taking lessons in a C172R and working at a local FBO. My dream aircraft is to fly Herks, and even if that doens\'t come true, it is still an honor to be in the presence of one. Any how, till i can get my hands on a real one, i fly on my simulator at home (computer). Could anyone either send me, or point to where i could get a copy of the POH. Everything ....the basic manual itself, as well as performance charts, weight and balance, etc. Thanks, and great site, keep it up! Don

I would like to hear from anyone who would be willing to look at a few images I have of AC-130H/U external components. I have nearly completed an in-depth book on fixed-wing gunships for Specialty Press, and would like accurate captions before I submit the book. Wayne Mutza [email protected]
