  1. I cant help you with any video, why am I posting here??? When I first went to Sewart in Sept. 63 I was assinged to ACFT 56468. Asst. c/c was Red Hutchens. Red told me that we had a different colored light on the Beaver Tail, so we would know when our plane flew over at night. One night on the tow crew after 468 and 3 other planes had landed the pilot of one of the other planes started raising hell about the different colored light on our plane. He said he almost hit 468 because the light was the wrong color. I don\'t think they were the 4 Horsemen, but they were flying close formation.
  2. I thought Hillery was doing the Nam protest in the late 60,s and early 70,s. I have seen 1 picture of her from that time frame with glasses and long hair. I didn\'t think she was hot then. Wonder if she ever inhailed Mary Jane? Bill said he didn\'t.
  3. Very good artical, thanks for posting it.
  4. 1. The airplane may still be partially pressurized 2. There may be a static electrical charge on the airplane John That is the reasons we were given. When I was working on them and on the loadmaster headset, When we went outside and had the cord on the ground we would pick up AM radio stations. Did they ever get that problem solved. I remember it happening in Tenn., but not so much in SEA.
  5. Did she look hot in the flight suit?
  6. Why would anybody want to open the crew door in the air? We have some Christmas lights that say \"for outdoor or indoor use only\". I was tought that after a plane landed to let the crew open the door from the inside.
  7. Back in my day there were no ATM,s. And I still have never used one to this day.
  8. Hello and welcome APUnit. I was at Naha for a spell.
  9. It musta been one of them Rabbits that we had at Amarillo. I know they could jump over 6\' high. Don
  10. One of our trips out of CRB (64-65) time frame. We had to fly over some body of water and there were muzzel flashes comeing from everywhere. Something hit the windscreen, don\'t know which one. The CP said duck so I did after the fact. We couldn\'t find any signs of damage when we landed, so I don\'t know what it was. I did find some skid marks when I changed clothes.
  11. First one I ever seen. I didn\'t know they had anything like that. Thanks.
  12. You think us old farts are cranky now, just wait till constipation sets in.
  13. I remember it happening but don\'t remember exactly when. Were you there when Airman Back got sucked out the fwd cargo door?
  14. I went over there but I couldn\'t read anything. Looks like it will be a good site. Don
  15. Thanks, I sent you a PM, don\'t know if it got there. I think I know how to retrive them. I went to school at Amarillo on the B-47 and was sent right to Sewart and cross train. Got to Sewart in Sept. 63. and went to Naha in June of 65. Don
  16. No I\'m not Cameron. The name Larry South sounds familiar. I Didn\'t remember a difference in the lox and gox. I was about 3 planes away and saw the rescue chopter swoop in and was told later what happened. I think Sgt Shifflet was my CC at the time.
  17. Just don\'t get cought fishing in that lake where the rabbit hides. HIs first official duity was to slap every Vietnam Vet in the face and I still despise him. Guess I should be more forgiving.
  18. I am guessing that is when the Pres. then tried to save the hostages in Iran.

I also filled the 130,s and made dam sure my wrench didn\'t have any grease on it. I felt the stuff was too dangerous to play around with. Don
  20. When I went TDY to Clark From Sewart about Oct 64 There was a maint. persom filling the lox system. We had always been told that LOX and grease did not mix and would go Boom. I was about 3 planes away and on top of my plane,we were parked on the clover leafs when I saw a rescue helicopter come in real fast and land for a couple of minutes then take off again. A little later I was told that one of the Maint. persons had tried to attatch the LOX to the plane and it exploded burning him pretty bad. I don\'t remember his name but I heard he was sent to Walter Reed Hospital. Doed anyone remember this and what happened to the Airman? I was also told his wrench had grease on it.

    Fuel Topping?

I got CRS also. When a plane would come in from a mission we would have the flt. crew taxi and park at the fuel pits. We would refuel the internal tanks there unless there was maint. to be done like a PE. or fuel tank maint. This is to the best of my knowledge.

    Fuel Topping?

When I was on the A,s topping off the fuel ment filling the tip tanks. We had to fill them with a hand held hose. After engine runs, before a flight we would top off the tanks.
  23. When I got out in 66 I had some bad teeth and they were gonna fix them for me. I signed a releas form so they would not mess with my teeth anymore and they let me get out. I had to pay for it later.
  24. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.
  25. Tell us some of your war stories. Drunken brawls and bar fights. I found my coaster from the Pauleans Club that says Hold my seat I have gone to p.
