  1. Wow, someone's smokin' something good. They are no where near body mate, not to mention only one can be in body mate at a time. The 3 Indian planes are in front of them. The first one is roughly 4 weeks(give or take) away from moving into Final Assembly, and the Body Mate Position, which would put the first one out the door(to paint, and then flight test) roughly around the first of the year.
  2. LOL... Yep your right. Can't stand all the roads are the same name. Jones St, Old Jones St, New Jones St. Also it's pretty damn hard to find a street here that you can drive down for 15 miles, and the name NOT change 3 times. The kicker is the damn intersection near my house.... You are on Due West Road... Come up to the traffic light, if you want to stay on Due West Road, you'd better turn left cause if you go straight you'll be on Acworth Due West Road, and if you happended to turn right your on Kennesaw Due West Road. Turn signals switches must be a very costly option on cars down here too.
  3. Spent the evening with her tonight. :)
  4. Pretty cool how they change numbers to meet their fancy. This aircraft is actually number 199... The SECOND HC/MC is # 200, as Jansen stated. Also, not really out of sequence. The HC/MC's are going through a little more testing than the normal pre-delivery, what exactly don't have a clue.
  5. That's the way I'm seeing it. Only one type for the "J", and then the Upgraded one being built for E/H fleet replacements. I see if I can dig up some info.
  6. Think they got some additional mods tacked on to the package, being the delay. Last I seen All six should be delivered in 2011. The dirty rumor is, if they like these six, they will take their option for 6 more. These aircraft are basically a stretched HC/MC-130J.
  7. Close, and yes temperature dependent. JP-4 weighs 6.3 For those old timers that don't know. This crap was dumped back in the 90's for JP-8 Also similar to the civilian JET-B, though JET-B the difference mainly being the JP had icing and corrosion inhibitors. JP-5 weighs 6.8 used by Navy and some USMC bases. JP-8 weighs 6.7 The "new" Air Force gogo juice. Also found on some USMC bases. This is also same as JET-A1, though as with the JP-4, 8 also has the icing and corrosion inhibitors the JET-A1 doesn't. Yes, I know all numbers are relativity close to 6.5, but when figuring weight n balance by using "6.5 works for all fuel" didn't float, we(P-3 world, maybe Herc world is different) back in the JP-4 days we used the the different numbers. Now with JP-4 gone we just used the JP-5 number as its only about .1 off from JP-8 and using the higher number gives a little fudge factor.(we used 8 a lot more than 5, being P-3's on a USMC base with JP-8 and on USAF bases abroad. Bagging out a Herc(E/H) with externals using JP-4 verses JP-8 would around a 5,000lbs difference.
  8. Final Assembly looks like this... KC-130 < Technically out of Finally Assembly, but still in the building. KC-130 Dyess Canadian Canadian Canadian Canadian Next to enter Final Assembly Indian Indian Indian HC/MC HC/MC HC/MC
  9. Shop? What are you talking about? Paint, Assembly, Mod, What? You have the LM picture of the flight line shot... The Indian Herc in question is KC-3802... It was the only one(of the 3 Indian Hercs painted) that had a black radome.
  10. Tunisia just ordered two brand spankin' new "J" models... Not sure what their fleet make-up is though. << Just looked good ole Wiki says 5 E's and 2 H's. << Just reread Lockheed's press release on the "J" models, they state Tunisia currently flies a fleet of B's and H's... So who knows... Other than they will have 2 "J" models come 2014. :)
  11. Ok, wasn't sure... Army still has crap load of flying Warrants...Know a few Navy Enlisted that crossed over to fly helo's (or should I say Choppers, since they are Army aircraft? LOL) Navy actually will have again, maybe... They selected 4 for the Pilot program and 3 for the NFO program back a few years ago, to see if it was possible to have a flying Warrant program. They will only be in the big boys though, P-3C, EP-3E, E-6B's, and the Helo's... No tailhooks.
  12. Was going to say Marine Corps or Navy, by the prop stripes. A CWO???? Navy/Marine Corps Warrants don't fly... Don't think was a Vietnam thing(maybe wrong) either, just read an article on an Army Warrant, in 1969, left the Marines after 12 years of service, and went into the Army Warrant Officer program. The reason? He wanted to be a pilot.

    C-130J

    Looking really good Casey. Thanks
  14. Yes, All "J" models can carry tanks... The USAF -30's don't have them going out the door.
  15. The best place, model wise and price is www.aimhighmodels.com They are out of the Philippines. They will also paint the aircraft like you want, with tail numbers etc for no extra charge.
  16. NATOPS for C-130T... With STANDNOTES for their mission. It would be Navy as it is NATOPS, not MATOPS. There isn't any Marine Corps manuals. They are all Navy based. There could also be a NATOPS Supplement as well, but that usually only applies to commands who operate a derivative aircraft IE P-3C versus a EP-3E... The EP-3E would have a supplement covering the mission gear that a P-3C doesn't have.
  17. They will have the standard NATOPS for the C-130T, then will have STANDNOTES that cover their mission. It will be "Navy" too. There really isn't anything "Marine Corps" when it comes to manuals, It is an NATOPS isn't, not MATOPS?
  18. Guess you haven't seen the "J" demo flight, or hell any C-130 demo flight video... Same maneuvers...
  19. As stated the HC/MC-130J's are short birds. Also the KC-13Js are short, Oman just bought two short planes as well. The standard trashhauling Air Farce 130 I believe will only be the -30's, As these can fly, higher, faster, further, and with obviously more cargo than a short legacy 130, and without the need of external tanks, which are not on USAF J-30's either.
  20. This is a sham the going on in the regular VP Navy (P-3 / T-56-14). They are limited to 940(IIRC)... In Executive Transport, we flew at 1010 on a normal basis. We didn't change out turbines any more then the regular VP guys. Wish I had tech info for you.
  21. Yep, "J" models are this way.
  22. At the factory we call the box(and I'm brainfarting what the real name is) just aft of 245, and forward of the winch, on the centerline of the belly the "Bread Box" Damn thing never gets sealed right from the vendor, and we do it during pressurization checks.
  23. I think you hit the nail as square on the head as you can with this. It can be confusing. They come up with the designation thing back in the early 60's to help stop all the confusion in designations, but here we are 40 some odd years later and its all jumbled up again. Sorry about that. I knew the answer, but didn't cross the P-3s in the C-130 world very well there. You don't even want to go down the P-3 designation road either it is to say the least, jacked-up big time, and that's being nice.
  24. As others have said the gift shop is there on Walker Street. http://www.lockheedmartingiftshop.com/]Lockheed Martin Gift Shop As far as tours, I asked about this and was told by my supervisor, basically if you are not a family member of an employee or on a Lockheed official dog n pony show, there are no public tours. Sorry.
