  1. I cant say anything about chow halls - but the best donut I ever had was when we kids had to wait for our dad on occassion at the MAC terminal at Clark. We only had to go out there every once in a while, but I looked forward to having that donut and stealing a sip or three of coffee.
  2. I had a chuckle when i saw the local gun clubs latest promotional ad. I really love the "Welcome to America" I nearly passed out when I saw that they will have the FN p90 available soon.
  3. It is unfortunate that due to the case, he would not have received a judge with military experience. Had he been given a harsher sentence (which he deserved) by a judge with experience, it would have been touted as biased. And then they would have to try the case a second time.
  4. Yeah, you'll see this when you return. Good luck. That is a better pic of the house.
  5. Rolling Stone has been a less than reliable news source for music over the past few years. I do not expect it to be credible or reliable for anything military. Not really a good idea to fire him at this time either. It takes a little while for a "shift change". It is unfortunate that he may lose his job. :/
  6. What? No back up alarm? I half expected to see someone leaning out the window looking back. Stop on a dime and give five cents change.
  7. My condolences to you and your family.
  8. Kid's hat banned due to zero-tolerance policy at school. Eight-year-old David Morales wanted to honor American troops, so he decorated a cap for his second-grade class assignment. Little did he know that he would run afoul of the school’s zero-tolerance weapons policy: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iMXgWX1my2TrMvxt5JNxRShwyzBwD9GD9RV80 Best quote ever ""The American soldier is armed. That's why they're called the armed forces," -Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio To appease people he could have made a second hat hit little soldiers holding little copies of the second amendment. I would like to make him a hat, with a herk gunship flying over some little Dirkadirkastan village, making it into a parking lot.
  9. $750,000,000 seems a little cheap. Is it made in China?
  10. Flying Castle of Doooooom. I like that name. reminds me of this one
  11. Does it have a doppler sublimated magneto?

  13. Damn. I've been depressed about not having a job, and not being able to find one. But ...Here's to hoping things get better for you. Regarding this nominal fee..How much is this nominal fee and can I make substitutions like say a two faced lying boss? (as I am unemployed and have no ex)
  14. Soooo - went and saw the movie. Do not go see it if you cannot suspend reality. The herk scene was pretty good. There was also a short scene with a herk gunship. Both scenes were hinky. Did you know that it only takes maybe five minutes from hitting the start and being up in the air? I know it is a movie and they have to cut things short to move the story along. The assault take off - Ok that was believable. But it really was not a full on yank of the yoke. It did a barrel roll. Woo! Tail number was OH 4597 - you could briefly see that the tail was painted over from whatever it was. The gunship scene was really fast. A line of dialogue after that scene was "Wow. Just like Call of Duty." Which is in reference to this youtube video > In which stupid people thought it was actually from the COD video game. And there was a scene with a Huey. Again - suspend reality. It does barrel rolls and then they fly straight up and shut it down to avoid heat seeking missles. Also a scene with an Osprey. I am not sure about how much they can lift - but this was a shipping container. {EDIT} Found the info "The V-22 is fitted with two external cargo hooks, either of which can support a load of 4,538 kg (10,000 lbs). If the retractable hooks are used together for stability, the combined capacity can be up to 6,804 kg (15,000 lbs)" The smallets shipping container would be a 20ft one weighs about 2300 kg (5070 lb) So I guess that would be a yes. The important thing I took away from the movie: - "If ever in a combat situation flying unfriendly skies - a barrel roll will help you out. I think if I had seen the movie drunk - it would have made more sense.
  15. I will be visiting a friend. Whom I wished I had met sooner. William Paul Toth. GySgt. United States Marine Corps World War 2, Korea, Vietnam. 05/25/1916 - 01/10/2005 Santa Fe National Cemetary Section 18 Site 852
  16. LOVE THAT!! copy paste and printed to post at work. :)
  17. !Those are great images. I really liked the one of Westmoreland in the helicopter with Mc Namara. I lol'd at the warning that they were graphic. How else are images of war or "police actions" supposed to be? without going into a full rant : I noticed that the pro-war people appear to be working class . While the anti-war always appear to be well dressed and probably never had to mop a floor or dig a ditch.
  18. gave in to the fried chicken urge. About five minutes after having a piece, I remembered why I maybe have it maybe twice a year. At first I was all (n_n) "yay fried chicken" and then I was all (O_o) "I'm gonna be sick" and then I was kind of wishing that a SAM would just drop out of the sky on top of me and put me out of my misery. *waves fist @ Dan*
  19. The entire case. And the trees will not be cut down. Two. The other three dogs were just mutts. All of them. Five minutes.
  20. I have never seen someone eat fried chicken in a dainty manner. But yes. That looks good, because all I have had so far was a substandard cup of coffee. Looks like one of those mini microwave pizzas, on top of a bagel dog. It was the power of the fired chicken that kept the SAM from making a hit. Fried Chicken. Is there anything it can't do?
  21. I fiddled with things a bit - and got it to work.
