I was at the same base as Spectre623, wing walking 56468 to the wash rack when the man on brakes hollered out thet the President had been shot. A few minutes lated he said he had died. We were told to secure the plane and go to the barricks. I am thinking this was on a Friday cause we didn't go back to work till Monday. Now if only I could remember what I had for dinner yesterday!

"T Handle - Fire warning control devices (shaped like the letter T) located in the cockpit. Each engine had one handle. in the event of an engine fire, the T Handle for the affected engine would flash red lights. Pulling the handle would discharge fire extinguishers in the affected engine and would shut down the engine and feather the prop. (TMI?)" Could be my CRS again, but I am thinking pulling the "T" handle would position all the fire extingusher valves to that engine, Shut off all systems to that engine, feather the prop, but a button had to be pushed before the fire extinusher bottle would be activated. ???

Could very well be, but then I been out 47 years as of yesterday. CRS is getting worse every day.

All my time was on the "A",s. I love watching about any planes.

Last night I watched on the Smithstoinian Channel about the C-5 M. It was interesting to me because I worked on 25 of the first 27 at Lockheed. Next Tuesday at 10:00 pm they will have a program about the C 130. That will be Oct. 8 at 10:pm. If anyone is interested. Just FYI.

I have enjoyed this place very much. Thanks for putting your time into it for us

That could be, I only live about 10 minuets from there by air. I have in the past seen and heard some of their planes fly over my area.

I didn't hav any medals on my DD214. When I sent in my orders that I was in VN (BOG) I recieved a letter telling me of all the medals I was qualified for .I still havn't tried to get any of the medals. My wife wants me to get them, I guess so she can pin them on my flag when I die. Guess I need to find all my papers and go over them again. I havent been concerned at all about the medals or Viet Vet status.

Other videos on there also. I've been watching for about an hour. Thanks for the link.

I first heard it when I was 21. Just a few months after I got out of the AF. I still hear it and have told some friends and my wife. The hum I hear don't sound like the sampels on the link. More like a C-130 running off in the distance.

I thought it was a building in the background.

In 67 to IRAN C-130,s. I got a job in QC. in April 67. I live about 45 miles away from there. One night with my bedroom window open I thought I heard a C-130 engine running.I knew it wasn't but I ask the next day and none had been run. Even if there was there is no way I could have heard it this far away. Since then I have heard them on many occasions and in the last few years I have heard that Hum more often. I have got to ask has anyone else heard this Hum??? My wife says I am crazy, maybe so.

Some of the Navy people were on the little Gun Boats, in the Black Water Navy, or sumpin like that. I had a friend that was and it took him 18 months to get his pay started.

CCK, 314 TAW Blanket Orders T-121 issued on or around April 67
donwon replied to Asticou's topic in C-130 General
While I was TDY to SEA I was given one (1) set of orders when I went TDY and had to turn them in with my travel voucher with every place we landed at listed to get paid for missed meals or an overnite stay. Back then even $2.00 was a lot of money to a GI. At least it was to me.
