The main reason this video is called Angel Flight is visual. When the plane releases its decoy missiles, as is shown in several of the pictures, it creates an Angel shape in the smoke. But it is much more than just visual. See for yourself. Listen to the words of the pilot and the tower, and make sure you sit quietly and listen to the very end. This is beautiful. God bless our Veterans! Click here: " A…

Re the news article about the Living Room Drop My VP Bob Radley and I were the loadmasters on this project. Aircraft was International Air Response N118TG (ex-RC-130A 57-0512), shot in November at the Jameson Tank DZ at Coolidge, AZ. There were three identical living rooms, each weighing about 2,500 pounds. All were gravity ejected using CDS flaps settings. Basically around 10 percent or flaps up, depending on the weight at drop time. A simple release consisted of a loop of 1-inch tubular webbing through a centerline floor tiedown ring, manually cut at "Green Light". Drops 1 and 3 had no parachutes. On drop 2, a Wamore GPS guided (JPADS) chute was used. Jeff…

I was wondering if anyone had any info, pictures and specs on a propeller cage or prop house. I'm trying to gather all info available so we can get one built for our deployed location for use in the winter time. It is used to do prop maintenance and lifted up by a forklift. It is mentioned in the 61JG10-1 and then refers you to the 00GE. Below is the excerpt; These cages (figure 5-127.1) are mounted to a forklift and can have a variety of maintenance aids installed, depending on local conditions and procedures. Figure 5-127.1 is a notional depiction of a propeller cage and is not intended as an engineering drawing for manufacture. Units must develop local operating …

Last August I noted HC-130H(N)s 92-2104 and 88-2101 at Brussels airport. According to most sources 92-2104 is with 211th RQS/AK ANG and 88-2101 with 102nd RQS/NY ANG. I've also heard some reports that 92-2104 was with 102nd RQS/NY ANG at that time, possibly just on loan for a deployment. Anyone have more info please? Koen

Anyone out in the ABQ area or stationed at Kirtland? Trying to get a handle on the Herk ground trainers there. Last time I was there almost 2 years ago, there was an E model and a fuselage behind the Combat Rescue School I think these may be 63-7777, the fuselage, and 64-0521 There was an ex USCG, later USAF Herk in a Hangar used as a ground trainer, 67-7185 There appears to be two herks next to the Northern most hangar off Aberdeen Ave. They may be 64-0559, a fuselage, and 69-5829. Can anyone verify them for us? I have a trip out there but not until October. Thanks Bob

A while back I seen a pic of her with her wings off evidently being used as a ground training aircraft of some sort. I understand it went to depot with a cracked wing box and never came back out. This link was posted on here last year. We didn't call them Angel flights but almost always coming back out of Hue to Danang we were the first leg home for our Hero's. I didn't realize what an Honor it was to be a part of this. Have a great Veterans Day. This morning I will perform "Angel Flight" for a Veterans group at our local Community College.
