We just chopped 3134 up last year in Tucson. I have some sad pics of it being shredded if you are interested. I see you are the only other person I have come across who has any idea how the combat pylon fuel system works! Bob Maddern Bob, Itried to send you a PM on this but could not. So I will do it here. No I do not think I would like to see any pictures of her being shredded. To many memories, have seen pis of her prior to it though. As far as the combat pylon fuel system I have never seen any of the tanks on an aircraft. Did look them up in the -1 and -2 a loooooong time ago just because I had the panel in the acft. Little thing that used to happen to me about external tanks. 53-3134 never had any but the schedulers kept trying to get her to fly wit 32,000 internal and full external tanks all of the time. Thanks for the thoughts' "Dutch"
  11. No I went to Springfield to take my wife for her treatments and have been out of here since lacst Monday. Came home to day have to go back Monday. But springfield got 11 inches. Snowing here now susposed toi get 3 Inches. (SH-T!!!)
  12. As everyone knows this is an early A Model 55-0023, It has the window over the Nav station an it has the fuel panels for the original external fuel tanks. The tanks were a lot larger than the 450 Gal one we ended up with on the A model. You could transfer the fuel in to the main tanks thrugh the cross feed system with one of the panels and there was two boost pumps in each tank, fore and aft. The large thanks were about the size of the Elint pod on the C-130A-II acft. You can save and blow the picture up but still can not see the panels too good. I at one time crewed 53-3134 and it had both the window and fuel panels in it. Window cracked one time so we just plated over the opening.
  13. I was not in E-flight but was there part of the time you were. I ran one of the phase docks, and then the 36 month inspection operation. Was ther up until they closed us down and ran us off.
