  1. If you spent 8 years at Pittsburg you know that the C-130\'s were Air Force reserve, not Guard. Guard has 135\'s. Rz Hill
  2. Hmmmmmmm didn\'t know there were any \"62\" \"H\'s\" RZ
  3. Was it a Guard or Reserve crew, lots of difference in the two. RZ Hill
  4. At one time most all of the C-130\'s had Omega, pretty good system. I do not recall and outlets installed on our acft RZ Hill
  5. Tom, another fine work, I have nosed over a couple of evenings in this book. A true and accurate story of \"how it really is\" This isn\'t a \"this aint no BS \" book, it\'s the real \"way it is\" Thanks Tom. RZ Hill
  6. That was Martinsburg Wv Guard,in the panhandle of the state , They were replacing their \"B\" Models with E\'s at that time period. Quad 7\'s was one of the good ones , but you should hear the Horror stories about some of the others. RZ Hill
  7. HMMMM as the externals provide a down force on the wings to help with loading, are the \"j\"\'s gonna have wing problems such as we had in the 80\'s? Or is it to keep flying time down to crew duty day as it would be hard to get 4 Zero\'s in the cockpit at one time. RZ
  8. Do you have any photo\'s of 1301-1308 as converted? Those I would like to have. RZ Hill I don\'t sorry Bob
  9. bobdaley wrote: PLEASE SEND A SET TO [email protected] Got lottsa hours in these fine acft. RZ Hill
  10. 50 million $ of great acft within about 25 feet of being turned into $10000 of junk just to satisfy a pilot\'s ego , typical!!!!!
  11. Wasn\'t 54-1621 there in 58? I believe I trained on this acft. RZ Hill RZ yes it was, a lot of pics of it at sheppard in the Gallery
  12. Now what differentiates the Reserve force J\'s from the AD, Remember the reserve force acft are , in some cases ten years old, and have been flying in the AOR for quite a time, Is it because of the Ute rate? or because of the care of the acft? RZ
  13. Well that would be 2 extra props not one , Yes they have to get center wing boxes, Typical Lockgreed BS RZ
  14. What a load of ACTIVE DUTY BULL S$$T. And where is the Extra Prop Mounted? The person who wrote this crock must use it to blow all his hot air away. Baltimore Guard and Keesler Reserve Have developed the J not Little Rock. If this propaganda is what the Political AF is cramming down newbie\'s throats. \"sorry\" . RZ Hill
  15. First thing get it straight, Lox does not burn or explode. It was the grease that exploded aided by the oxygenating liquid. I was on B-47\'s in the late 50\'s and serviced many converters . Our little gig was to get the pincer bugs in the drip pan and cover them with lox, take the frozen bug and throw it ,it would shatter in a million pieces. RZ Hill
  16. Now , only the H2/3\'s are to be modified, Really doesn\'t make a bit of sense. For quite a long time you are creating yet another variation that has to be taught. The reserve forces that \"own\" (sic) these acft have flown together in every conflict since Desert Shield. Kinda dumb, and a waste of money don\'t you think? RZ Hill
  17. AS I have \"ranted\" for years the Reserve forces, being comprised of mostly civilian members that have had to \"work a real job\" for a living and who know how to pinch a penny or two had the foresight to procure thru their congressmen the proper equipment for their forces. Then comes BRAC, the Active duty\'s method to strip these assets and try to cover for it\'s lack of forsight. SO SAD , Who suffers, The great crews and Maintenance folks that have to maintain and fly these worn out pieces of equipment. It\'s funny that most of the E\'s flying have come from the reserve forces and have been rebuilt over the years using reserve force money. RZ HILL
  18. This comes from the same group that for the last 20 years said \"hell no we don\'t have to have new equipment, we can fly this acft forever\" Right. Screw em Dam Lockgreed mongers. RZ Hill
  19. Will check, but I don\'t think it came from Martinsburg. RZ
  20. THat would be considered a breach of security, right????
  21. 62-1788 arrived at Charleston Wv to the WVANG in December of 1975 with a little over 11000 hours on her. Always flew a little crooked but was very reliable. If you saw it at Pope it was because we did a whole bunch of JATT in that time period. Msgt Simmons was the crewchief on this acft from arrival till we sent her off in 1986. I logged over 800 hours in this acft. The acft went to Minneapolis for a short stint then to Little Rock ANG. This acft along with 62-1804 and 1824 were the best of the 8 we got from CCK. Properly maintained acft last!!! RZ HIll
  22. No the blade failures were actually hub failures, fatique cracks. Got so bad that the props were limited to 25 hours between inspections Kinda rough on the guys on the ski caps. RZ Hill
  23. The Sims at Simiflight in Tampa were great that could work out. RZ Hill

    Center Wing Box

AS I have said for years, Lockgreed is out for the almighty dollar, only, It shows in both the C-5 and the C-130 Engines that do not live to expected life, outer wings that crack, center wing boxes that are crap and known about for 40 years. What a scam. RZ Hill:angry:
