  1. Bob, I see 3 aircraft in that area south of the airport on google earth, is that what you are talking about? I may be able to have someone check the numbers in a few weeks.
  2. Too bad they didn't see the snow berm as well as this river when they landed 74-1660 on the N-S at the 'Dorf.
  3. Maintainer: We ate the chicken, it was good with beer and doritos.
  4. Rolling resistance, sometimes called rolling friction or rolling drag, is the resistance that occurs when a round object such as a ball or tire rolls on a flat surface, in steady velocity straight line motion. It is caused mainly by the deformation of the object, the deformation of the surface, or both. Additional contributing factors include wheel radius, forward speed, surface adhesion, and relative micro-sliding between the surfaces of contact. It depends very much on the material of the wheel or tire and the sort of ground. For example, rubber will give a bigger rolling resistance than steel. Also, sand on the ground will give more rolling resistance than concrete. Any moving wheeled vehicle will gradually slow down due to rolling resistance including that of the bearings, but a train car with steel wheels running on steel rails will roll farther than a bus of the same mass with rubber tires running on tarmac. The coefficient of rolling resistance is generally much smaller for tires or balls than the coefficient of sliding friction. Wikipedia
  5. You'll probably have to contact the manufacturer. A large part of the resistance is formulated by construction and compound. There is no mention of any of that in the mil spec, MIL-PRF-5041K. It only mentions requirements for speed and ply rating in the performance section.
  6. Nothing wrong with any of them. I just went to high school in Bitburg, and cut my beer teeth on it.
  7. Getting up and out of bed could be construed as productive.
  8. That sounds good jetcal. A paying job checking out all the Hooter's restaurants. They do pay people to eat at places like McDonald's and Burger King, so why not. Wings and wing connections, Mike.
  9. Hard to believe some of your manuals tell you that. All corrosion info should be in the 1C-130A-23. Any info in that would override whatever is in 1-1-2.
  10. Indeed. That was our comfort pallet for DVs with it's own interphone system with stereo audio inputs and privacy curtain. Seemed to work great for me. I'm not sure if it was ever used. Thanks for all the comments!!!!
  11. Bob, to answer that question, and I didn't get it the other day when you asked, yes, any aircraft in for PDM or UDLM are assigned to Robins.
  12. Bob, I've heard form 2 people that they are moving active duty people in. One of them has orders to the C-17 unit, but they have asked him if he wants to work the C130s. Don't know about airframes, or if Kulis is putting the HCs at the Dorf.
  13. Does anyone know if the C130 active duty aircraft that will be going to Elmendorf are going to be in AMC for the mother command?
  14. All of that (since this is late) and Happy New Year.
  15. Still have through next week Steve, although with the holidays, I'm winding down quickly...
  16. I have never heard of that. Leading edges are not primary structure.
  17. It is a seven pin connector and two pins are bigger, but it's a larger size than the normal T/E receptacle.
  18. That was the good old days, or if you are Guard or Reserve. We have to submit an AFTO 107 if we want to use a screw with a different thread to get engineering approval.
  19. I think you are misunderstanding me. It does lock if you hit the switch to close, up front or in the back. There is no reason you should have to stand on it. If you have to do that, then something is wrong, as the actuator should apply enough pressure to get it to lock.
  20. It isn't locking in flight, works fine on the ground. The 52 series all say to go to close position. I am looking for something in writing that says it must lock after free fall in flight. I don't care if 98% of them do it. If it isn't in black and white, it isn't a requirement.
