What's the latest on the AMP program? I thought I heard that it was stalled. I know the original test airplanes were sent to PDM to be upgraded to a standard and returned to the Air Force.

I had the wonderful privilege of flying 7817 here at LRF yesterday. This is the aircraft on which Col "Budda" Caldwell earned the Air Force Cross. I wondered if there are retirement plans for this old warship and how Bill is doing?

I am trying to help someone looking into ANG Airlift Support Herks. Aircraft flown by ANG non airlift units, mostly fighter units. Years ago they were a way to replace the old C-131's/ T-29's flown by the ANG I made up a list with what I had notes on but I know I missed some. Any help would be appreciated. The letters at the end just refer to the model. Does anyone know of ANG's plans for repair of the T56 engines that are sent to Standard Aero. Their commitment to the contract will be expire in Feb 2014. Rumor is that they will be going back to JEIM level repair. Are they going to establish Engine Regional Repair Center (ERRC), Queen Bees, or JEIM back shops at each base?

This link was posted on here last year. We didn't call them Angel flights but almost always coming back out of Hue to Danang we were the first leg home for our Hero's. I didn't realize what an Honor it was to be a part of this. Have a great Veterans Day. This morning I will perform "Angel Flight" for a Veterans group at our local Community College.

The main reason this video is called Angel Flight is visual. When the plane releases its decoy missiles, as is shown in several of the pictures, it creates an Angel shape in the smoke. But it is much more than just visual. See for yourself. Listen to the words of the pilot and the tower, and make sure you sit quietly and listen to the very end. This is beautiful. God bless our Veterans! Click here: " A…

I'm a regular visitor and poster on AR15.com. A VERY popular AR 15 Forum. It's mostly geared towards AR15s but it's got other weapons as well. There is one Forum called General Discussion where pretty much anything goes. You get some good general posts but many turn into bull crap and many times it's just guys playing. Recently there was a topic on GD(General Discussion) where some saw a P3 with an engine shut down so he asked some questions. There is a regular post there who appears to be a Marine KC guy but not sure what crew position he is. Someone posted about feathering in flight and of course some posted who have no clue about propeller driven craft let …

So we went and saw The Dark Knight Rises. The first ten minutes of the film involve a Herk and a feat that had me questioning if it was possible. This is so far the only link that I can find to give you a reference if you have not seen it http://jerrygarrett.wordpress.com/2012/07/22/how-the-aerial-stunt-was-filmed-in-dark-knight-rises/ Yes the special effects used a glider that looked like a turboprop. But would that be possible? eta- lets just say that the turboprop on average weighs 9800lbs. I think a herc can carry a maximum of 42000. But it is not a tow truck. Garbage scow, yes. Tow truck no. I would think the drag on the weight of the turboprop would factor in…
