Larry, the part drawing is from 1957. Like I said, I don't ever remember seeing it, but I guess they are there. Scott, can't you just park a pet rock on the forward floor? I wonder if there are any available.

Before removing engine, check wing weight (fuel) distributed and assure sufficient clearance is maintained under wing section in case aircraft settles when engine is removed. If more than one engine is removed from an airplane, install the aft fuselage blocking support (figure 9-5) before removing the second engine. The support is installed on a mounting pad beneath the fuselage at F.S. 737.0. If this is not compiled with the airplane will tip on its tail. This is from the 130-B-2-4. I'm done. As the Germans say, "Viel Spass", much fun.

Maybe this? I think the current method is putting weight behind FS245, but I could be wrong. From 1C-130A-2-2
-
Why the heck do you want it? Just more equipment inspections to do.
-
After finding it, it is listed in the books as a Ramp Closure Pad. I cannot find anything in the books about using it. 338677 98897 . . PAD, RAMP CLOSURE It is even called that name in the part drawing.

I honestly can't remember ever seeing one, but I am a pointy head. Kind of odd that there's only one on the left side.

I'm limited to what info that I have on hand. I'd suggest calling Honeywell, since they make both kits. Maybe they can give you some info.
-
The book shows both kits required, 593249-1 70210 . . . KIT, REPAIR PARTS, TURBINE, MAJOR OVERHAUL 593250-1 70210 . . . KIT, REPAIR PARTS, TURBINE, CURE DATED I know this wasn't much help.

Just make sure you check every wire to ground, and compare to another aircraft.

We had some problems at Moody with the 241, but I can't remember the problems. I retired 3 years ago, and I've slept since then. But on two birds, water had run down the cables and corroded the pins in one of the Canon plugs. I never thought it was good idea to have receptacles mounted on top of any box that may be susceptible to water intrusion. We had a problem with the Color Radar on the C-141. Bad radome gaskets allowed rain water to flow down the waveguide and into the roll assembly. At cruise altitude, it would freeze and cause STAB problems. I wish I would have been more help.

Try 5940-00-539-0664, that's all I could find out. It's a binding post for an HF coupler mount box, not sure if it's yours. If that isn't it, you could always sub a short bolt and configure it like a grounding post, using a terminal lug on the HF lead in wire. Locknuts would ensure it won't come loose.

The same caution is in the Job guides CAUTION: The underfloor heat switch must be off during engine starting and switching of loads from one generator to another. Failure to comply could result in a burned out generator control panel. I don't know why the GCP would be damaged, but since the caution is still in the book, it should be followed.

Can't help you. It's managed by the Navy, and I couldn't find it in the AF books.

I'm having someone check my old HF folder at Moody. I think I had that info on this RF terminal. Those shield assemblies were a one time buy for the install kits.

brake pressure while towing c130 by a tractor.
tinyclark replied to edwardlcy's topic in C-130 Technical
They call it a shear pin for a reason. The AN-6 bolt is rated at 8280 PSI shear strength. I have seen two break off. It keeps damage from happening to the NLG. -
brake pressure while towing c130 by a tractor.
tinyclark replied to edwardlcy's topic in C-130 Technical
Operate auxiliary system hand pump (3) until pressure on HAND PUMP PRESS gage (1) indicates between 2900 and 3300 PSI. Maintain pressure throughout towing operation. -
Fairchild FA 2100 SSCVR recording time
tinyclark replied to avio@superherc's topic in C-130 Technical
The J Model book states that it records 30 minutes in high quality and 2 hours of standard quality. -
I'm thinking it was a mixup at DLA. I used to have contact info for them, but guess I dumped it. Don't you all have an AFETS?
-
Have you just ordered one? I would call the Webflis center DSN 661-7766 and see if you can talk to the equipment specialist. It is possible that a part was misidentified. You could probably get one from AMARC. It's the same speaker used for the PA system.

I have a 2009 copy I don't really need anymore. -
Which AC-130Es at Ubon were fitted with the 105mm gun?
tinyclark replied to mppd's topic in C-130 Historical
When the birds arrived at Khorat, they already had them fitted. -
It is actually called the Illustrated Parts breakdown, and there is more than one, depending on what model you are talking about. Example: The IPB for the H models is 1C-130H-4, the flight manual is 1C-130H-1. DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT – Distribution authorized to U.S. Government agencies and their contractors (Administrative or Operational Use) (20 November 1996). Questions concerning technical content should be directed to WR-ALC/LB. Other requests for this document shall be referred to WR-ALC/LUTD, Robins AFB GA 31098.

Looking for information on Heading Coupler 2591201-905
tinyclark replied to Mustafa's topic in C-130 General
https://www.google.com/#q=4K90075-103A+coupler The C-130H models use an INU tied to the SCNS (Self-Contained Navigation System). It is not the same INS that you have. -
Looking for information on Heading Coupler 2591201-905
tinyclark replied to Mustafa's topic in C-130 General
Lockheed part number is 4K90075-103A. This was used in the C-5A aircraft as well. There were many companies showing this coupler, but I don't know if they have stock. This is one of them http://aerobasegroup.com/nsn/6605-01-078-1701/ -
I posted my rescinded TCTO spreadsheet in the Technical forum.
