  1. Well Muff, I have a little over thirty thousand rounds of ammo at the moment and waiting on more to arrive, but if the o'bortion requires me to fess up my ammo I will do it with a smile - one bullet at a time:) Dan
  2. Hey folks, I'm back Just been busy doing some of that retired guy stuff, you know, building guns, loading guns, polishing guns and waiting!! Also mama made me buy her a 39 foot trailer so I have to take her out and about to make use of it once in awhile. Next trip I guess will be out west to check out a buddy's Titan missile complex he just bought - strangely enough it was never listed in the SALT treaty's. Dan
  3. Sorry but I don\'t remember the exact thread but here is a sonar image of AF 4593 hosted for Tints97 (sorry I didn\'t post it sooner but was out of town for a couple weeks) Dan
  4. :side: :side: :side: Good one George, thanks But personally I like to stick em and splat emB) Dan
  5. I am against this, I mean come on guys - wheres the fun in vaporizing omar? An exploding splat all over his buds from a 40 or 105 would be much more satisfying Dan
  6. Could always be much worse than a constrictor:side:
  7. RZ Is this a guard problem or is it AF wide? Nothing would surprise me anymore Dan
  8. Tints97 If your having too much problem figuring out how to post the pix just email em to me and I will host it for you. [email protected] Dan
  9. Wow, thats like a punch in the gut! Does anybody know why he passes? He wasn\'t that old, he was a great guy that helped a bunch of people out and really easy to work with and yet another great guy that got the butt plug treatment from the chiefs group. RIP Greg Dan

Now if you have a co that turns the aux pump off and tries to turn it back on before the accumulator discharges is almost a guarantee to open some breakers. Dan

    TDY\'S

Well excluding training TDY's, my first TAD was to White Sands missile range for "operation boarder star" living in a GP large. Guess it sucked but what the hay, I was 17 and enjoyed it at the time, I most clearly remember just walking out of the tent heading to the showers when I heard that Uncle Ronny (Regan) was shot, First AF TDY was as a Crew Chief to Griffis AFB NY with my E3A (in the dead of friggin winter) First TDY as a flight puke was accidental, we were flying some exercise or other near Pope from Keesler, weather at Biloxi go so bad they told us to RON at Pope. AC was a great guy, Bill Gosnell, the likes of which you don't see any more. He made sure us sweatys were settled at the NCO club and made sure we each got a pitcher of beer on him - SWEET. I am sure there are other people that remember Bill Gosnell, sad day when he passed on. Dan
  12. Lots of good Nav storys out there but I have a sweet \"bad Nav\" story. We were leaving Incurlik for the states via Germany and they were planning on some really silly flight time, I asked them why. I was told well we have to go all the way around.... Then I pointed out they needed to file an eastern bloc Dip clearance since there are quite a few slots every day for them but they hardly ever get used except for MedEvacs and that \"its all airways for Gods sake and even I could fly that!!!\" Well somewhere over Romania (it wasn\'t a very friendly country back in the day) we have Commie ATC screaming at us \"Vere do you tink you going\"? About that time out Nav is standing in the window and says \"hey look at that airbase down there, it looks like a lot of Migs and Hinds...\" Pilot asks the Nav \"whats up, are we off course?\" Nav finally looks over at the SCNS and says \"yeah were just a bit off\" Pilot asks \"define \"just a bit\"\" Nav says (very calmly like it was a small thing) \"oh about 40 miles\" (that nav is now a commercial pilot!) :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Dan
  13. Congrats and I hope all the paperwork get approved for you. Only thing I can offer is now days they frown on you getting into the seat when your still three sheets to the wind! (we wont talk about yesterdays though). Dan
  14. Tiny, over the years I seen three ESS AC failures of various flavors. They really suck!! Dan
  15. Yep just sounds like bleed back through the priming check valve (24 hour check valve). Some bleed back is normal over time but if it fails completely you will have a huge mess on and in your floor:angry: Now here is a real poser, many planes will show normal levels flying UNTIL you get up to altitude and the quantity will slowly go down - sometimes way down- until you descend and the quantity will come back up. Anybody? Dan
  16. Bob, like I said, in 00 or 01 alot of our guys from Albatraz (550th) took a road trip to Shepard to gut one of the planes they were scrapping for parts but I don\'t remember if it was a E or and old HC/variant but gut her they did. Wish I could remember more specifics for you but lots of spots of my memory has embolized away (man that really is maddening too). Dan
  17. What I have always been told (and it makes sense) is they changed it from the inverter position to the Ess AC position for normal ops to save some money, inverters wear out but the AC bus doesn\'t. Dan
  18. How old was the imagry Bob? (unless you pay the five bills for pro its probably kinda old) I know they scrapped at least one in 00 or 01. Dan
  19. An FE\'s work is never done!! Dan
  20. Wow, thats a real shame because thats going to be a real write off. Cant say I would have liked to have been the Nav or FE, almost got an Unbelievable rectal probing:ohmy: Dan
  21. You might find one off mods on some HC/MC-P\'s. I don\'t think any two planes were really the same, some having different mods and only being partially de-modded. Dan
  22. Well it aint from an MC-P nor from an HC. Never heard of this before. Dan
  23. Bob, I sure hope they try to keep the AD with the AD and the Reserves with Reserves. With the 9th and 5th SOS we would interfly if we had to, but it is such an overall mess! There was the AF way and then there was the Reserves/5th SOS way and it seems like the twain never shall meet. Not saying what they were doing was bad, just saying they tended to fly and operate the way that best worked for them but we were stuck with published, HQ and MAJCOM approved procedures. Interflys always seem to uh \"invite lively debate\" shall we say:side: (or maybe that was just my winning personality?) Dan
  24. I am not sure but most of the stretched Herks I have seen have had a plug forward as well as aft of the wings so it would seem that the CG shouldn\'t be too different. Just my guess. Dan
