Wow, haven't been here in a couple of years but need some help. I have ACTUATOR 1009350-# for overhaul process according to T.O. 8D1-61-2-3. NOTE: "Prior to further reassembly, add a generous amount of high temperature grease (Allube 720, Allube Corporation, Glendale, CA, no known Military Specification), to bearing bores, pinion teeth, Geneva mechanism, and all bearing surfaces of gear assembly (15, 18, 20), gaskets (21, 23), and shaft (22)." I've looked everywhere possible for the "ALLUBE NO. 720" grease and haven't had any luck. I found it to be CAGE 90789 but no longer in business. Wondering if any of you know any equivalent or s.s. in…

Hey guys I have a question for the engine test cell and AMARG people. When doing preservation of the engines, T.O. 2J-T56-56 says to do it iaw 2J-1-18. I have read it several times (to be sure) but can find no reference to T56 engines. Only thing that has a specified procedure is the 1C-130B-2-4CL-2 used by test cell. Does anyone know why the 2J-1-18 would be referenced? What do you guys use? Thanx PJ

First an introduction..... my name id Randie Coulter, I am an aircraft enthusiast and scale modeler. I live in Fort Smith, AR right in the flight path of incoming and outgoing flights to and from KFSM. A lot of those flights are C-130 training flights out of Little Rock. Right out of high school I worked for TBM, Inc. at Sequoia Field, CA just North of Visalia. When I was there, they flew B-17s and F7Fs in fire fighting operations. Later, they acquired 3 C-130A aircraft that were utilized in the same capacity. The company still exists but now resides at Castle in Atwater, CA. They are still operating 1 C-130 and they have another 2 sitting in storage at the Visalia Munici…

Some say we reduce the manifold air pressure PSI to less than 45 to allow the engine bleed air regulator valve to "open" (thinks the manifold air pressure is less than 50 PSI) And some say it is so the starter control valve can open (against less pressure)... I make no claim to either. I know our book says if you get NO propeller rotation to reduce the air pressure to less than 45 PSI and try to restart... I know the manifold pressure will be less than "50 PSI" but I also know the starter control valve is subjected to "less" air pressure.... Thoughts? References????
