Anyone know of a place to get a decent pubs bag preferably with wheels. The issued ones that look like a Samsonite are garbage. Thanks Maxtorq:cool:

http://www.foia.cia.gov/airamerica.asp Some missions have been released. I just randomly clicked on one and found the "paperwork" for the rescue of a downed F4 aircrew.

Back when you joined the service of course. Check this site out for pay tables going back to 1949. http://www.dfas.mil/militarypay/militarypaytables/militarypaypriorrates.html BTW, I made $642.90 when I joined up as an E-2 in February 1983. Just a hair over what a bird colonel over 22 years in service made in 1949! As an E-2 Uncle Sam paid for my supper and bed though! Mark

Found this online, hope you like it also.. Mike Thompson You Can Leave The Military, But It Never Really Leaves You The Charlestown Post and Courier Thursday, March 4, 2010 Occasionally, I venture back out to the air base where I'm greeted by an imposing security guard who looks carefully at my identification card, hands it back and says, "Have a good day, tech sergeant." Every time I go back onto Charleston Air Force Base it feels good to be called by my previous rank, but odd to be in civilian clothes, walking among the servicemen and servicewomen going about their duties as I once did, years ago. The military, for all its flaws, …

This doesn't have anything to do with C130's, but it's unique. Hope it comes through . Glenn FARK.com: Fark Video Player (4464984) Remote controlled SR-71 Blackbird http://www.fark.com/cgi/vidplayer.pl?IDLink=4464984

I get this newsletter from some guy in the Phillipines who keeps up with retiree/VA issues. Apparently there was some Seniors survey that was tracking SSA decreases for this year. That might be a bonus as it seem there may be some emergency legislation to get a retiree pay increase for this year.

Reading things on here has prompted a memory or 3. Just before I retired in 92 I was told I was going to get a briefing, it was outlined like this: You will go to the base commanders office, upon arrival you will be greeted by an E8 admin type, his/her name tag reads "T H E Y" at this point you find out who was giving out all that misinformation over the years (They said this...). Next you will greeted by a SSgt in an OMS/AGS hat.....yes you finally met "the regular crew chief". Finally you are taken in to the base commanders office, whereupon he draws back a large curtain revealing a wall sized mural.....he turns to you and says:"This is the BIG PICTURE!" At th…

I assume the reunion you guys were planning on attending a few weeks ago was a good one!!! Am I right? Did any of you fine young gentlemen (you too Giz) happen to take your camera along? If so did any of you take any pictures that the rest of us would enjoy? I am sure a lot (most) of us would like to see them---especially the ones that are here on the forum! It would be like seeing some of you guys in "real life" !!! Thanks, Ken I still think it would be cool to have a C-130 Hercules Forum reunion in the near future! I will go out on a limb and volunteer Chris(tinwhistle) as the host!!!!! :D

F-15's and 16's aren't bad, but they are getting old. The F-22 is supposed to be far more capable, but there won't ever be very many of them. Now the F-35 is about ready. It's smaller than the F-22, and a lot less expensive. Maybe we'll get a lot of them. Unmanned aircraft still can't do everything. The link below brings up a video about the infrared sensor system on the F-35. It's about a microsecond behind science-fiction . . . . . Let's hope it really does what they say it does-but it may also be just a proposal. http://www.es.northropgrumman.com/solutions/f35targeting/assets/eodasvideo.html

Hey guys, Engineers going off headset for awhile. Will be off the net for a month or so while I move to the new house and set up electrical and get the power company to hook me up. Then I will have to wait for the cable guys to hook me back up on the net, so it may take awhile for all this to happen. Computer is getting pulled down later today so I'll say "see ya" for the next month or so. Dan

Back in the day, (circa 1957) Lockheed ads said early A models could be “ Loaded / unloaded simultaneously through rear cargo door (9 feet x 10 feet) and forward cargo door (6 feet x 6 ½ feet) at truck and dock level height.” Does anyone remember this actually happening... if so give an example… or was this Lockheed marketing bull.
