  1. Chris, Great Job! I think you hit the nail on the head with your report.
  2. As Ken said if it will increase more visitors/members I'm all for it.
  3. "I'm sorry I didn't post this when it happened on September 1st, 2011, but I've been off the board for awhile. I am finally retired from the Air Force! By finally, I mean I took the long road. I started in the Army back in 83, got out after Desert Storm, went Army Guard, then Air Guard, then back on active duty in the Air Force. I made MSgt in '09, and waited until my commitment was up after transferring my GI Bill to Son #1. (Whew! Wears me out just typing it!) Anyway, my last four years and change was as a Herk FE at Dyess in the 40th. All of the FEs are in the 39th or on to new aircraft by now I hear, however. I can consider myself one of the last FEs in that squadron. (It doesn't help on a job app however!) So, I'll try to start showing up a bit more around here. Just wanted to post the news. Mark You went about it the long way, but you did it congratulations on a job well done. Thank you
  4. jmitch, Thanks for responding:-)) Samantha is a college freshman now and onto bigger and better subjects. I agree with your assessment of her former teacher though.
  5. I did not say that you called Muff stupid, I simply said that it was improper to state the post was stupid. I guess you are right though, we are entitled to our own opinion. Sorry if I stirred up a hornets nest. Bruce
  6. While you may disagree with the content, I find it improper for anyone to call Mr. Millen's post stupid. I for one thought it was interesting and slightly funny. If you didn't like the post you could have simply not responded or responded by saying it could have been posted elsewhere in this site. (i.e. Humor Forum):-((
  7. Best of luck in your stand against the protesters:-(( I am unable to join you physically, but I am there with you in spirit.
  8. I think he is referring to the Fuel Flow indicator (Torque, TIT, RPM & F/F). Some times communicating in a second language can be difficult for us to understand:-))
  9. APG85, Take a look at my avatar. I believe this is 64-0564. Bruce
  10. Congrats Tiny! Enjoy your well deserved retirement.

  13. Took the quiz here are my results: You Scored as Combat Infantry/Armor You're a combat infantry/armor soldier, a grunt, a dogface, a footslogger. While some say you're common, you're a really a disciplined person who realizes the importantce of working in a team, and in reality you and your comrades get most of the work done. In any situation or problem you can be found in think of the action. You are brave, motivated, self-less. We need more people like you. And I salute you. FORWARD!!! Combat Infantry/Armor 94% Engineer 81% Special Ops 75% Support Gunner 63% Officer 63% Medic 56% Artillery/Aircraft 50% Civilian 0%

  15. I was hoping someone would bring up Israeli security. They are the very best. Our TSA should take lessons from them, as far as people screaming bloody hell. OH WELL!!!!! We need to remember that Freedom isn't free. My only problem with TSA is they don't know how to communicate.

    To all Veterans

As a Veteran my self, I would like to thank all those who served with me and those who are serving or have served. I will be attending our local Veteran's program with my Boy Scout Troop who will assist with the set up and ceremony.
  17. Hi AMP, I think the 8-bladed prop is a great thing. Hopefully the fleet will get it.
  18. Jatoc; I understand the PA makes a difference in the power. As I mentioned I did 2 tours with VXE-6. Just wondering why with -15's, which we had there would still be the need for the JATO? I've been retired for 13 plus years and its been a long time since I've been on the icecap. I guess you might say I was trying to second guess, but that is not my intent. Just curious.
  19. Why are they using JATO in Antartica? While I was there with VXE-6 ('88-'89 & '89-'90) we never used JATO, we had it available but I do not remember anyone using it while I was there. We routinely rotated at 60 knots and lifted off at approximately 90-100 knots. I might be a little off on the T/O speed as it has been awhile.
  20. The Fort Hood crash had two survivors. One was the IP (Mike Rogers) who was standing and the other was the EF (Dave Grimm) who was standing or sitting near the galley area. Interesting fact both their wives had just given birth a week or two before the accident.

    ROLL CALL

I will be at our local ceremony with my Boy Scouts. One of whom will lead the pledge. We also help the members of our veterans organizations with the set up and tear down of tarps and chairs used at the ceremony.
  22. Looks Great! Was the 616 Group from Southeast Asia?
