I only worked on the B-52H for about 7 months at KI Sawyer AFB, MI -- a very impressive airplane! Here's a clip of 120 TF-33P-3 engines rolling down the runway @ Minot. Don R. http://www.fark.com/cgi/vidplayer.pl?IDLink=4632948

Here at the city I work at have a corba helicopter on display at our vet. park. Our problem is with birds and the bird crap. We have tried every thing. What are they doing with the C-130 displays? I know it don't take long for bird crap to destroy a A/C.

Okay, guys, i figure if I can get good info on something, I can get it here. after years and I do mean years, I have found most of my old slides and picture and negatives from my years as a TAC trained killer. and, no Chris, they are NOT deguerreatypes. I want to digitalize them, and want some ideas on a converter. I read the reviews on many of them and still can't tell which is worth getting. I figure some of you, at least, have done this with your stuff, so any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks Giz

Casey, Hope this is one of your best Birthday's ever. Thanks so much for all the time and energy you put into this web site. You will never know how much it means to all us old timers (and others too!!). I look forward each day to see what will be posted here. Things sure have changed on 130's since 1964 and I can keep up here, while many things are still the same so I can still provide information. Best of both worlds. Thanks again and Happy Birthday. Sonny

I noticed that I no longer see the site stats which include the birthdays. Is that just me and my machine? Hopefully it is just me! Ken

Hello All, My friend referred me to this site to try to get some help/advice on my little dilema I'm having. I am currently a C17 Loadmaster and want to get to AFSOC on 130s. I've wanted AFSOC since I joined, but got screwed out of that deal (read profile). Being a loadmaster has gotten me back to being a bit closer to getting to AFSOC, but there seems to be some troubles. My chief contacted AFPC again for some info, this time they came back saying there's no known "pathway" from 17s to AFSOC. They told me it'd be best to try to get Jmodels at Dyess or Ramstein and then get picked up for AFSOC. I've heard debates on where Jmodels actually were, etc. Now, I know …

Reading things on here has prompted a memory or 3. Just before I retired in 92 I was told I was going to get a briefing, it was outlined like this: You will go to the base commanders office, upon arrival you will be greeted by an E8 admin type, his/her name tag reads "T H E Y" at this point you find out who was giving out all that misinformation over the years (They said this...). Next you will greeted by a SSgt in an OMS/AGS hat.....yes you finally met "the regular crew chief". Finally you are taken in to the base commanders office, whereupon he draws back a large curtain revealing a wall sized mural.....he turns to you and says:"This is the BIG PICTURE!" At th…

I'm trying to find anyone, that was in the 774 TAS during 1971 and 1972, that has a copy of Air Crew "BLANKET FLYING ORDERS" for SEA, that has my name on it and the rest of the Squadron's name on it too, just for a keep-sake item. Would like to have a copy e mailed to me. Actually, wouldn't mind hearing from anyone I was stationed with over at Clark AB. Would like to hear from anyone, on the Air Crew, the day I fell out of the back of crew transport pick-up, at Cam Rahn Bay AB, RVN. I was the FE.

You get what you vote for!!! The military's managed-care option -- TRICARE Prime -- will be ended Oct. 1 for retirees, their family members and for military survivors who reside more than 40 miles from a military treatment facility or from a base closure site, TRICARE Management Activity announced Wednesday. Most of these 171,400 beneficiaries will need to shift health coverage from Prime to TRICARE Standard, the military's fee-for-service health insurance option. For beneficiaries who use more than preventive health care during the year, the shift will mean higher out-of-pocket costs. Fifty years ago today was a dark day for America and the world. For you old farts, do you remember what you were doing when you heard the news? As for me, I was a young A/3C with 4 months under my belt at Langley AFB, VA. It must've been a weekend because I remember sitting in the dayroom watching TV when the news broke. The CQ was T/Sgt Clevenger, a crew chief on one of the B-models. I remember going over to him and telling him the news. I'll never forget the look on his face! Don R.

O.K. guys, I need your help, or rather your advice, or suggestions, or any assistance you may provide. Each year the Social Studies teacher at the local High School sponsors a Veterans Day observance at the H.S. Very well done, very respectful, but the last couple years it seems as though it has turned into more of a Memorial Day observance, complete with bag pipes, Danny Boy, that sort of thing. I have been asked to be involved in the plans for this years observance. I know what I'd like changed, but not what to replace it with. For instance; the music. The H.S. School choir always sings as well as the band (or part of) plays, that's where Danny Boy comes in. Any suggest…

It flies! My son and I just watched history in the making as the Boeing 787 took to the air for the first time. Congratulations Boeing. When will Lockheed (aka Lackheed) take to the air with a new heavy lifter? Or even a light lifter for that matter? Well, Airbus may have the A400-M, but Boeing has the 787 which also shows promise. Now, if the Pentagon just makes the right decision and goes with the Boeing tanker vs. the Airbus.......
