Went to the range the other day and shooting my carry gun and had a squib load (primer only, no gunpowder) and now I have a bullet lodged HARD into the barrel, now to find a way to get it out without damaging the barrel. Scary part is this is my carry gun, what would have happened if I had to use it and this happened - seriously screwed is what I would have been. This was with MagTech ammo, anybody else have trouble with their ammo?

Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of this "interview"? I had a copy but it "vanished" when I PCSd from Germany. For those not in the know; it's a supposed interview of an F-4C pilot, in Vietnam and an American newsman with an Air Force PR man present to translate the Captains answers into the "company line". Always enjoyed it and I'm sure many younger troops would too. Thanks in advance.

Went to the range yesterday but had one of those rotten days where I couldn't get both halves of my brain to agree what to take and what to leave; needless to say my boy and I hauled a pretty large pile of iron and ammo. Results, a very good and very long day at the range :hatnuke: It was a great day, but one thing still amazes me, the 1919 weighs in at 46 lbs and it still punches a decent recoil, a little harder than the Garand. You would think the weight would eat up the recoil but ......... I was using some old POF .303 for my #1mk3, never have fired it before and boy is it strange, having like a one second lock time?!?!?!?!? Click, wait, boom. My shots were…

Well guys, anybody that knows me, knows that I am the last person on earth to harp about PPE, BUT----- If your working on an old house, pulling down the plaster, removing the insulation, digging out rats nests, dead birds, dead bats etc..... WEAR YOUR MASK Right now I am down to about 40% lung capacity due to stuff mentioned above. Seems like I came down with Histoplasmosis about a year ago, which untreated is fatal, and I have had it undiagnosed for the last year. Just now starting a 12 month course of meds (nasty ones too) to try to get rid of this crap so well see where this leads. This is the primary reason I have been missing the last couple of months. Now I…

I just read a blub on Military.com about our cannon boys failing to refuel a -8 resulting in the -8 crashing. Was this the Wombats? If so when did we become fixed wing certified? Does anybody know anything more about this? Dan http://www.military.com/news/article/report-failure-to-refuel-caused-crash.html?wh=news&ESRC=airforce-a.nl

I assume the reunion you guys were planning on attending a few weeks ago was a good one!!! Am I right? Did any of you fine young gentlemen (you too Giz) happen to take your camera along? If so did any of you take any pictures that the rest of us would enjoy? I am sure a lot (most) of us would like to see them---especially the ones that are here on the forum! It would be like seeing some of you guys in "real life" !!! Thanks, Ken I still think it would be cool to have a C-130 Hercules Forum reunion in the near future! I will go out on a limb and volunteer Chris(tinwhistle) as the host!!!!! :D

Reading things on here has prompted a memory or 3. Just before I retired in 92 I was told I was going to get a briefing, it was outlined like this: You will go to the base commanders office, upon arrival you will be greeted by an E8 admin type, his/her name tag reads "T H E Y" at this point you find out who was giving out all that misinformation over the years (They said this...). Next you will greeted by a SSgt in an OMS/AGS hat.....yes you finally met "the regular crew chief". Finally you are taken in to the base commanders office, whereupon he draws back a large curtain revealing a wall sized mural.....he turns to you and says:"This is the BIG PICTURE!" At th…

I was on the Air Force's web site and I noticed a couple of articles about the CMSAF visiting various bases in PACAF. They were interesting, and it's good to see senior leadership getting out there and meeting the troops. Now to my observation: I noticed a link to Chief Roy's bio, so I clicked on it. He's been in for nearly 30 years, and looking at his ribbon rack on his blues, he has not ONE ribbon/medal/device from any sort of contingency/conflict/deployment/etc. I read his bio to confirm, and he spent his early years as a CE-type, then went into MPF, and ended up as the command chief at various (predominently) AETC bases. Curious, I looked further to see if t…

Hello All, My friend referred me to this site to try to get some help/advice on my little dilema I'm having. I am currently a C17 Loadmaster and want to get to AFSOC on 130s. I've wanted AFSOC since I joined, but got screwed out of that deal (read profile). Being a loadmaster has gotten me back to being a bit closer to getting to AFSOC, but there seems to be some troubles. My chief contacted AFPC again for some info, this time they came back saying there's no known "pathway" from 17s to AFSOC. They told me it'd be best to try to get Jmodels at Dyess or Ramstein and then get picked up for AFSOC. I've heard debates on where Jmodels actually were, etc. Now, I know …

Good morning guy's Haven't been around much lately, 'cause of cardiac problems, but The VA generously implanted a pacemaker a couple weeks ago and I'm feeling a bit better now, so I hope to be on board more often. While I was down and out I did look in now and then even if I didn't actually sign in; anyway, I have a question. Wife and I will be traveling past Warner Robbins next week. We have visited the museum there before, so I'm not inclined to do that again, but I'm wondering if there are any Herks "on base". We both have our brown DOD card and have access to the base and we'll stop at the BX for sure, but is there anyone out there in Hercules.net land that kno…

Okay, guys, i figure if I can get good info on something, I can get it here. after years and I do mean years, I have found most of my old slides and picture and negatives from my years as a TAC trained killer. and, no Chris, they are NOT deguerreatypes. I want to digitalize them, and want some ideas on a converter. I read the reviews on many of them and still can't tell which is worth getting. I figure some of you, at least, have done this with your stuff, so any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks Giz

www.afblues.com This is a web comic from an Air Force stand point. I've been following for a long time, and it's pretty funny stuff. The main character is an F-15 pilot, but some stuff translates to all planes, and all services. P. S. I hope it's okay to post this. If not, I won't be offended it disappears!

This video almost makes me miss commercial flying, except for all the crap you have to put up with. Also good if you like big jets Click here: YouTube - The FE's Lament 2010 HD Another good one. In fact, check out all of Balleka's videos on YouTube. MK Airlines is a British registered 747 cargo airline owned by Mike Kruger. They were originally registered in Ghana & would only hire Rhodesians. Click here: YouTube - Balleka's Channel#p/u/6/TesxpJdZWO8 Don R. I think he needs a good bayonetting, how can you have peace with a group who's sole goal is to destroy you and your way of life.

I'm trying to find anyone, that was in the 774 TAS during 1971 and 1972, that has a copy of Air Crew "BLANKET FLYING ORDERS" for SEA, that has my name on it and the rest of the Squadron's name on it too, just for a keep-sake item. Would like to have a copy e mailed to me. Actually, wouldn't mind hearing from anyone I was stationed with over at Clark AB. Would like to hear from anyone, on the Air Crew, the day I fell out of the back of crew transport pick-up, at Cam Rahn Bay AB, RVN. I was the FE.
