Found a great website that also happens to supply a much needed reminder that we still have a traitor (or a several thousand for that matter) in our midst. Never forget:mad: http://www.pownetwork.org./2007px/Decals_and_Bumper_Stickers.html They also track down posers too - sweet! Dan

Well about five days ago our lows were dropping down into the single digits, my water pipe insulation from the house to the trailer didn't meet the grade and it was rock solid ice (that was Monday). Tuesday it went down to about 6 degrees here and not only didn't I have water for the trailer my water lines from the bathroom all the way down to the well in the basement were frozen solid (the pump, accumulator and well head were frozen solid as well), hell the toilet bowl was solid ice!!! Lets not talk about the sewer lines. Well I FINALLY got all (almost all) the water back on at the house and the trailer (had to plug the pex lines to the kitchen sink in the trai…

Tonight Thurs 11/7/13 Weather Channel says the worlds strongest typhoon is headed for the P.I. Predicted winds from 190 to 230 MPH. Looks like it will hit Cebu City but miss Angelese City. All us old P.I. Herk guys need to pray for them. There are about 3000 ex GIs living in the PI but about 58 million total people live in the PI. I remember typhoon bug outs but this looks like the macdaddy of all time. Bill Clark AB 69-70

Went to Arizona over the holdiay. Went to Pima museum. Was kind of a sad sight to see what had become of the few herks and the fairchilds they did have on display. Did not arrive in time to go out and take the graveyard tour. Thought I would share the pics - so if any of you plan on going out there, you can save yourself a little time if you are going there to see herks. There was a very very small display about aircraft in Southeast Asia, and the role they played. No mention of CCK or PI. Small teeny tiny mention of the herk. Down on the bottom corner it was "planes utilized in Southeast Asian...c130 Hercules, on display outside". There was a zippo lighter with Blind…

IDIOTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the Deer Crossing sign on our road. The reason: "too many deer were being hit by cars" and he didn't want them to cross there anymore. This one was from Kingman, KS. IDIOTS IN FOOD SERVICE: My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for "minimal lettuce." He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg. And he was a Kansas City chef! IDIOT SIGHTING: I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, "Has anyon…

I had to go to a furneral close to the old Myrtle Beach AFB Wensday. We went back to the home of a relitave and were sitting in his garage whan a plane flew over. I told him it was a C-130, he said no its just some big old prop job. I got up went out and looked and it was a Herk and I tole him so. He said they do touch and goes quiet often and fly over his house in doing so. He was surprised to know I knew it by just the sound. Today on the way home we rode up highway 17 past where the old base was and saw where the houses had been torn down. That part was all grown up. It has been some time since I have been by there. I also think there is an airline using the ol…

I was just watching Irene's path a few minutes ago and I got to thinking a lot of you guys are in it's path!! I don't think the forecasts are wavering any either!! I was only on the East Coast once & that was at Dover. I can imagine what it would be like there if Irene stays on it's current route!!! I suppose Rehoboth Beach is going to see some damage! Anyway, right now it sounds like it is the real deal so you guys be careful. You guys that were stationed at Naha could always head for Naminoue or it's equivalent before they close the main gate!!!!! It sounds like it could be no joking matter so take care, Ken

We lost Cecil Coutts on Saturday. We were crew chiefs at Pope AFB in 1970 and remained friends ever since .He was a great crew chief and a better friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.

I get this newsletter from some guy in the Phillipines who keeps up with retiree/VA issues. Apparently there was some Seniors survey that was tracking SSA decreases for this year. That might be a bonus as it seem there may be some emergency legislation to get a retiree pay increase for this year.

Well the law of primacy is really biting my butt. The first thing I had ever towed were your basic 707-300 awacs type airplane. Waaaal now mamma done and made me buy her a big trailer last year and its killing me to back the thing, I keep turning the wrong way - one too few pivot points keeps screwing me up!!! Some day maybe I will get it figured out - but probably not:mad: (just thought I would throw that out on a boring night) But at least I got to buy a truck to pull it with:D Dan

Pretty neat C-130 cursor with props and lights. If this works, save it as c130.ani in your proper windows folder.

Last week one of the guys that I met on this forum came to Montana for his second visit! Chris and his wife Mary have become good friends with my wife and I and we look forward to seeing them every year!! (I may have to go to Wisconsin to see them next year)! I'm going to try Chris!!! These two pictures are taken near the summit of Beartooth Pass. I think the elevation there is around 10,281 ft. This is on the way from my home in Columbus to the North East entrance to Yellowstone Park. Silver Gate MT. We had a good time and Chris told me some more "war stories" of course I had none to offer!!!! I think it would be great to be able to meet all of y…

Got a comm from one of my nephews, Cameron. He's a crew chief on the Marine Ospreys. Sounds like they are keeping him damn busy. Heres a big thank you for all the kids and old farts out there keeping the mission moving forward in-spite of inept political intervention. Dan

I've been a bit out of touch with all things Air Force since trading in that green ID for the blue one....hard to believe 15 years have gone by. Anyone have any insight on the Command Chief Master Sergeants? Did this replace the First Sergeant? Know this is a herk forum but thought perhaps someone more recently retired, or still active might be able to save me from Google. (I retired early T.Q.M) Thanks much!

I drove down to Kokomo yesterday on company business and was passing Grissom on my way back so I thought I would stop and look around. It's called the Grissom Aeroplex. The museum was closed but took a few pics over the fence. I was stationed there early 76 to Jun 77; back when it was SAC. Base housing is now "Villages at Eagles Point" or something like that. They put siding over the stucco and closed most of the carports into garages and sold old Capehart housing as condos! Found my old house, didn't look too bad, but in general the place is a slum....cars parked in yards, doors hanging off, trashcans in front of the houses and just generally unkept. The Air Rese…
