This link was posted on here last year. We didn't call them Angel flights but almost always coming back out of Hue to Danang we were the first leg home for our Hero's. I didn't realize what an Honor it was to be a part of this. Have a great Veterans Day. This morning I will perform "Angel Flight" for a Veterans group at our local Community College.

I've seen pictures of the first 2 ex USCG HC-130H's converted and flying for the USFS. 1721 now wears 118 and 1708 now wears 116. The FAA has some N Numbers reserved for the USFS including N118Z and N116Z, but they are not registered with the FAA yet and show no N numbers. My question is why are they not registered and why do they not have N numbers? anyone know? Thanks Bob

C-130E 62-1787 was recently identified as the airplane flown by Captain William R. Caldwell's crew as SPARE 617 over An Loc in April 1972. They were hit by heavy ground fire as they approached the drop zone. Jon Sanders, the engineer, was killed and most of the other crew members were wounded. Captain Caldwell and SSgt. Charles L. Shaub were awarded the Air Force Cross for their actions. 787 is current with the Arkansas Air Guard and is slated to go to the Air Force Museum upon retirement. It'll be on public display at the Yankee Air Museum in Yipsilanti, Michigan July 18-19.

I was told that Google maps shows a C-130 fuselage sitting in a field next to the Brazos River, outside Waco Texas. Sure enough I found it too. It's painted in CG colors and appears to be complete from the 737 forward with part of the center wing box still attached. It almost looks like somebody made it a nice hunting shack! We thought we knew where all the old CG Hercs ended up, but this one has us puzzled. Does anybody have any info on this one? Coordinates are 31.683850, -97.209271 Thanks!

Well, I cant find it. I am hoping maybe some one could share a pic of her in her current state. Thanks As a side note, if anyone reading t…
